Again, I’m not dismissing troons and the grooming that occurs with LGBT people, but these small town folks have their fair share of demons as well. They tend to be hidden better because they exist outside the minds of journos and the average American, but nefarious shit does get down and it’s disturbing how much of it gets swept under the rug, which is common since rural communities tend to have an us vs them mentality. Sheriff’s are corrupt as all hell and will frequently turn the side-eye if the criminal is someone he’s peachy with, or belongs to a family that has a modicum of social status and power.
