It's not like his prediction was his and his alone. It's easy to tell with how long development was happening that it was unlikely a new Zelda game was going to come out for the WiiU, same with a new proper Mario game. Anyone who sits down, realizes the Console life is almost up after a few years, can see that it's probably to be held over for the next big console.

Imagine being a GameStop employee and having an insane ~30 year "man" steal a game from you and watching him panting as he's hastily jiggling away.
He reminds of that one fat kid on Halloween that just takes the entire candy bowl left outside of the vacant houses and waddles away because all the other kids are going: "wow fucking really?"
