No. Nick tried to object to that under undue burden/the 8th amendment (someone more law savvy can explain why people have been laughing at that, maybe it’s because Nick has a trust fund and has a 25+ gram coke habit) but the Judge stayed it.
Bc $50k bail is not "cruel and unusual" for the charges. Absurd retardation.
Edit: they released Kayla on her own recognizance just now but I missed it, did they release Nick? I assume so because of bail but idk I’m not a lawyer
They both have the option to go free and be subject to conditions or put up 50k unconditional.
The Florida lawyer said otherwise, but then, he practices in Florida so probably mainly defends Florida Men.
Yeah, this (the one I mentioned) was a MN situation. No prior dui convictions (though there was a prior dui charge from 10 or so years prior that did not result in a conviction). And iirc, the outcome, after a month in rehab, was a conviction (on the dui; child endangerment was absurdly dropped) with incarceration ordered for a year or something, but only did a week or so in a jail, which was only during non-working hours, plus some house arrest (with full exceptions for going to work or "work").

And as a side note, the person was subsequently arrested at least a couple times after the $12k bail situation conviction for probation violations. Even, after being ordered not to drive at all (was first ordered to have a breathalyzer attached to the car but then was arrested in the car (but not in motion) drunk, so then ordered no driving at all), drove to court for a later hearing to get back driving privileges, and parked in a far-away lot to avoid observation. Learned nothing despite losing everything.

That is how arrogant and desperate addicts behave, and that is the person I've mentioned for over a year who behaved and sounded exactly like Rekieta, even way back when. Saw it clear as day.

Imagine being married, having 5 beautiful children, living in a nice house, being fully able to provide for your family, and actually living the American Dream (when so many literally can't right now).

And you throw it all away for booze, drugs, and attention on the internet.

Yo, fuck this guy. I'm so disgusted.
He had the golden ticket to a life of prosperity and comfort, and he threw it all away… for what? Booze, trash drugs, swinging with gross women? Beyond retarded.

It’s understandable (though not excusable) for someone to go down this path as a way to escape their shitty life. For a guy like Nick to do it is neither understandable nor excusable.

My drug use has never involved ketamine or any IV use, but does anyone know if there is there a way to take ketamine pills and somehow be able to take it intravenously? If so, then that's the most likely candidate for the arms. That, or they're more domestic violence marks.
Liquid ketamine can be injected, but Rekieta was taking ketamine pills, which are usually crushed and snorted.

I think some people might not know how much that is...
For reference if you buy coke in a club or something you're usually buying it in 1g or 0.5g. With a steady pace of use (couple of bumps a hour) that can easily keep you going all night and at 1g and you'll still have some left. Even this one girl I knew who had a serious coke problem was only doing like at most 2 grams on a wild night out (and certainly not on consecutive nights...).

25g even over a long weekend and even sharing is going to end in a hole in your nose... at the least you're looking at amphetamine psychosis.

Yeah getting drunk every night, doing open polyamorous relationships, and having a shit load of coke on you is something you get over in your 20s, not when you're married, with a house and a bunch of kids running around.
I used to have crackhead neighbors, they never bought more than 7grams at a time(two eightballs for around $300-$400) so that if they ever get caught, they would not be charged with having more than 14 grams or something if I remember.
Why this man was buying an ounce
Of coke at a time, to simply snort it, is insane, it just shows how out of the loop he was

You could crush them up, but then you'd be injecting an unkown filler and probably fenty. So it would be a really poor idea. Knew a few junkies and never knew them to crush up pills and inject them, only straight powders or liquids.

Theoretically, you can inject most drugs. Crush the pill, dilute it with some saline, draw up and shoot.

The cops had to literally BUST THE DOOR DOWN. Oh my FUCKING God.

That article also mentions arm sores consistent with drug abuse (way to go, KC, I thought you were way off on that). Sounds like he was injecting cocaine which is by some lights a step beyond freebasing. I’m astonished.

One interesting thing—the drug quantities the article detail don’t sound like 25 grams (3 small baggies mentioned; 25 grams is 25 small baggies). I imagine there are details we’re missing, like subsequent searches turning up other stashes.

Edit: Scales? Plural? In their bedroom? What the fuck. Wow.

Edit 2: Ah, he was just picking at his skin, so likely not injecting (no needles mentioned). That’s a tiny piece of good news.

Did he kill them or fuck them though? And is there a history of abuse/neglect or were they pretty well taken care of until he and his wife started drinking and partying like assholes?

I could see if this was a constant, reoccurring theme in their lives but again, it's kind of douchey to wish prison on someone cuz they made a few mistakes. If he was kicking the shit out of the kids, killed or fucked one of them, that would be one different.
Just because he didn't do the absolute worst possible shit in terms of child abuse doesn't mean they were well taken care of. Neglect is still abuse.

So the report of Nick having spots on his arm consistent with substance abuse is heroin right?
If they had needles I’m fairly certain it would've been mentioned on the police report. Most likely they aren’t referring to track marks, but rather the kinds of sores you see on people who heavily abuse stimulants, particularly meth.

You absolutely can dissolve the pills into a solution and inject, though it’s especially dangerous. Hard drugs are typically cut with things like lactose, sucrose, etc that dont really change the risk profile much. But pills have all kinds of fillers and binders that make it super risky to inject without using a micron filter. Not that a true junkie would care about that.
To clarify: obviously with fentanyl being everywhere now, the risk profile of injecting a street drug that hasn’t been reagent tested for fentanyl is even worse than the pills
