The weight was recorded on site and with the containers, which came up as 26.6g - they will weigh it back in the lab, without the containers, and Nick better be praying it's less than 25g. I don't know if the charge can be downgraded after the fact, but if it can, this is a final hope for him or he could be doing the minimum recommendation of 5.5 years.

I might agree with you if were just the drugs. But having at least some of the drugs out in the open and not locked up; having firearms not locked up; having ammunition not locked up; all in a home with young children - that's what does it for me.

One of the lawyers on the arraignment stream seemed to think Nick won't get any jail time, just probation, fines and have to complete rehab.

He was really confident when it was 5th Degree possession, 2nd Degree ups the ante a lot. It may depend on how hard the particular prosecutor goes on drug crime. There is the child endangerment angle. MLS could very well be right and probation or a suspended sentence pending a completing a treatment, but it isn't as clear of a path given the amount of coke he had.
