I might agree with you if were just the drugs. But having at least some of the drugs out in the open and not locked up; having firearms not locked up; having ammunition not locked up; all in a home with young children - that's what does it for me.

There is a scene in The Sixth Sense where Haley Joel Osment sees the ghost of a kid who says, "Hey, wanna see my dad's gun?" He turns around and the back of his head is blown off and gory. That scene has really stuck with me, and the thought of leaving firearms unattended where children can get to them has given me anxiety ever since.
that scene fucked me up

This cope is seriously on another level:

I want to know which of the 9 different black out responses to Anime sucks cope and sneed's super chat was the most informative and hilarious to this guy. I suspect Travelerr here may be taking his own private bathroom breaks and matching drinks while watching streams.

One of the lawyers on the arraignment stream seemed to think Nick won't get any jail time, just probation, fines and have to complete rehab.
That's the very optimistic outcome. Probably depends on if there's more charges from the child abuse/neglect. Then there's that young sounding prosecutor, who may want to try to make a name for himself.

Maybe I missed it, but has anyone seen what the search warrant was for? A mandatory reporter talked to the cops on the 16th, they show up with a warrant on the 23rd, but what was it for specifically?

I don't know if the cops talked to Nick in the intervening week, or if the initial report was enough to move them. But if they wait a week and have a warrant ready to go yesterday, that's more than an impromptu wellness or CPS check.

The warrant hasn't come out yet, but docs are getting posted to the thread as they're found.

No, it's almost an entire ounce. There are 28 grams in an ounce. Lern2metric.

I think he did. I saw him seething. I think he was reacting to it.
The easier to visualize amount is 2 tablespoons, roughly. If you have sugar at home you can see for yourself and even cut lines to understand how fucked Nick is.

To play Balldos advocate, all that stuff was in the master bedroom, and it’s safe to assume that was indeed locked down.

The amount of coke in the house strikes me as notable. It's 26.67 grams, just over the 25 gram charge upgrade in Minnesota. I bet Nick looked up the laws regarding this, bought 25 grams of coke not too long ago and figured "eh we'll snort the last bit before it's likely we'll get caught at all". That strikes me as exactly the kind of thing Nick would do
I'm almost certain this was the case. The issue with addicts that try to skirt the law this way is that they don't actually know how much cocaine is in the house. The package could have been cutting it close, but residual cocaine found throughout Balldo's Gate probably pushed it over the edge.

People are only mentioning the medallion but Nick was also under the effects of the "DSP outlives another" curse, the Ralphacurse and the Metokurse that killed Coach Chef Redpill.
A maximum sentence of 26 year isn't that bad, he's lucky that a meteorite didn't fall on his house.
