I'll say from experience that the only times I've found a spent shell casing were near where the guns would be shot. I've never gone to a friend/family member's home and found a casing somewhere odd. Barn? Sure. Garage? Maybe if you look. Bedroom? No.
I think a better question is, could Rekieta realistically shoot a round in his home without his neighbors hearing it? I know it's Missouri, but I thought he lived in an upper class neighborhood?

Minnesota. I mean it's not the Hampdens but it's not niggerville either. They appear to be surrounded by small ranch style prefabs to the north and south and wetlands type environment to the East where legal hunting can be conducted. If hunting can be done a gunshot might not go unnoticed. It looks like maybe a 30 acre wetland area boxed in by sparse residence and roads on all sides. I also have no idea what the topography looks like so there's that. Personally I'd just go the range that's a 15 minute drunk drive away.

I made the same suggestion, and somebody in the other thread noted that a standard sandwich bag is almost 2 grams, the weights in the report are specifically noted to be gross and include packaging. It's almost certainly under the threashold.
