Gordon very clearly lays out the fact that they were using his work without properly paying him, among other things; this isn't just about "babysitting" him. Gordon was constantly getting the runaround, not getting what he needed to do the actual job, then getting last-minute announcements thrown at him without being consulted beforehand on whether or not it was even possible. Stratton hired an expert to do a job, only to literally ignore all of his actual expertise and throw everything into chaos.Marty clearly wanted to reconcile their differences and work together in the future and that's not at all what an unreasonable employer would do. If DOOM Eternal's production was so difficult for the soundtrack guy, then imagine how difficult it was for the executive producer. He didn't have time to babysit Mick or address all of his concerns.
I don't think any employer would want to hire Mick after this whole situation. All this article says is that when shit goes down, Mick would rather defend his own ego instead of the project. It's not at all surprising that he decided to start up a new studio with a bunch of Insoymniac and Naughty Dog rejects.
Gordon was clearly getting gypped by a studio head resentful of the fact that the composer had gotten a bigger reputation from working on the series than he did.
