I'll give a little tip for narrowing down who the reporter of maltreatment of a child may be in case another lolcow is abusing their kids.

If the report had been made by a teacher, psychologist, medical doctor, law enforcement officer, guardian, sports coach, or summer camp director—essentially anyone with mandated reporter training and associated liability—the report would not have generated a public incident report with local law enforcement.

In every jurisdiction that I'm familiar with, including Minnesota, there is a dedicated online portal and hotline for such incidents, which are then triaged. Law enforcement cooperation from such reporting would not be public record. The fact that a "mandated reporter" literally went to the police is nearly unheard of, suggesting that the reporter might be someone like a pastor of a small, loosely organized church as I'm not sure of anyone else in the Rekieta's lives that would consider themselves mandated but not know how to actually report such things. So, it's not a surprise at all it was the pastor of their church.
