Apparently EVS was called from 2 different Minnesota numbers thinking they were both Rekieta. He calls the last one back and it is Nick confused why EvS is calling him and that he never called him. This is quite odd to me, if he calls him twice from different numbers, then is confused why EvS calls back and states he has never called him. Is this just brain damage or did he violate the conditions for his bail immediately when he came home?

He's a former lawyer right? So he presumably knows something about the law. And, he's got enough money to get a real lawyer. But, most importantly, he's a first time offender. The "some time" he will be getting is called probation plus the day or so he already spent there.

That's why first offenders get chances, because there is the possibility that this scares them and convinces them that they have too much to lose and they can learn to be better people. This isn't someone with a criminal history. In that case, he would have had his chances already and refused to change and do something about his behavior. You want kids to lose their dad b/c he fucked up and partied too hard for awhile.
