Am I the only one that remembered a while back he mentioned that Lady Rackets had her own room? Or was that "fan fiction farms"?

I think he made a comment where he said "her room" instead of "our room" and people took that to mean they were staying in separate rooms. He's never explicitly said that they have their own rooms though as far as I know.

Prob late because I’m 40 pages behind but yeah. He said “her room” on Feb. 8th. Context:

2/8 - Break, almost 10 mins. Left Branca awkwardly alone. Had to bring Kayla a Gatorade & move some things out of her room. (Yes, her room)

the bigger question is what was on the search warrant. kurt made this point last night and i think it's solid (regardless of whatever else people feel about him).

i think it's safe to assume that they had a warrant to knock down the door and look for drugs, but if there's any defending nick at this point, that's the point in the process that needs to be scrutinized. how did this turn from a child endangerment case into a drug bust? what was on that search warrant and what was the probable cause?
I really doubt this will be an issue given that the "child endangerment" issue was almost certainly tied up with the drugs. Probable cause isn't that hard of a bar to clear. Kid coming clean to the mandatory reporter about how fucked up mom and dad are and that there's drugs all over the place (maybe crackmom DID clean up somewhat before the door got knocked down) is the simplest answer.

I think lawtube is just hoping this is going to end up being some dramatic trial with every step being questioned and challenged. I doubt that will happen.

Technically, there is no indication of when Nick was informed of or otherwise shown a search warrant.
I don't know why people are stating it as a fact that they kicked the door in before Nick got to the house.
It doesn't say that on the report.
From the report we don't know when Nick was shown the warrant, if the door was through by then or not.

the police being able to lie is not the same as faking or pretending to have a warrant to gain entry, which they cannot legally do. They also can't command someone to do something and then claim a consent search (i.e. if they actually order someone to open a door, they need the same legal authority as if they kicked it in).
There is a wide gulf between what police are allowed to do on paper and what they actually do in the moment.

Nick knew damn well that they had a warrant
I agree it's likely that he was told they had a warrant during his traffic stop. It does not seem as though he was shown the warrant during his traffic stop. There is a difference.

My entire point is that we don't have a firm grasp of the first few minutes of the search warrant. There are any number of appropriate reasons to shit on Nick and Kayla -neglected children, bumping coke, driving drunk, squallid house- and I'm right there with you for all of them. The forced door entry is the one area where, with the few details we have, I think the cops potentially acted improperly.

What do you reckon the odds are on the oldest of the Rekieta kids watching this thread? At least occasionally?

If that was me, I wouldn’t want to, but prob couldn’t resist.

Probably started back in the day before all the degeneracy when Nick still had fans here: “Oh wow, look at all these internet people talking nice things about papa! Cool!”
