Wut? Show me on the bail conditions where Nick can't check himself into rehab. Next hearing is >90 days out, probably on purpose. There's "high end" facilities in MN. If there's a better one out of state, they'd have people on-call to have things ready at court on Tuesday when they open. They know how to frame it where it is non-incriminating. States generally don't mind people paying for something out of pocket that tax money would otherwise cover. There might be procedural ways to dodge the criminal issues but CPS isn't going to overlook a drug den on warrant fuck ups. Unless this somehow wasn't actually drugs with his baggie and scales, the way to sort this out is to get your shit together.

Except now there's already public statements showing his adversarial disposition to rehab. The standard letter that he was a good doodle at inpatient is likely no longer going to cut it. He'll need to really show remorse and contrition to overcome that. These people are professionals at sniffing out the bullshit he's slinging. He can feel, access, and process the pain he's inflicting, but he's so warped that he derives pleasure from the torment that he can feel in someone else.

Maybe it's the proximity to an extreme state with the safety of knowing he's in control of afflicting it and when it ends. However, you're right, he definitely can empathize with others, but what he does with it is very sick and twisted.

In any case, he's clearly incapable of accepting any wrongdoing or submitting to anything. Throwing the search warrant on the ground, letting the cops bust down his door and point guns at his kids, leaving cocaine around the Imholte kids after being asked not to.

Some people have written up long and very convincing posts here about how "give them nothing" is an efficient way to deal with the legal system (although they also condemned Nick's apparent ruthlessly pragmatic choices in the same post). However, I think the pattern of behavior points more to an inability to admit fault than a ruthless pragmatism.

I have dismissed this possibility after seeing the actual details of that charge. The specific charge of allowing sex/physical abuse cited seems to include things like not feeding the kids which we know happened from aaron's spaghettio experiences so I really don't think its an error.
