Yeah, especially with current year psychology and the way those dxes are basically a checkbox test you can probably qualify for both, but at its core - trigger warning: imprecise language - autism is a detachment from the emotional world, and BPD means being hyper-connected to the ebbs and flows of the emotional world.You can have both at the same time, they commonly get misdiagnosed as each other especially the non-slut BPD.
The ugly thing is that an autism diagnosis would completely prevent a BPD person from getting the help they need, since they could always fall back on autism being de facto untreatable instead of putting the work into managing their BPD to a level where they’re not leaving a trail of nuclear fallout through their life.
