It's more than that. Skunk spray sticks to everything. The grass. The trees, the house, anything in your yard. It smells awful and will take a while to naturally degrade. Drowning is a pretty humane way to destroy animals. They have a moment of terror and then pass out. Its better than some people who beat raccoons to death with boat oars or have dogs chase down and eat possums alive.

Yeah, nothing more peaceful than taking a trapped animal and tossing it in water to have it peacefully thrash around in serenity until its lungs peacefully fill with water.

If it’s trapped, then throw a tarp over it and run the car to gas it. Or get a high caliber pellet rifle and shoot it. A .35 caliber pellet rifle with 800 fps should be more than enough to take them out.
