Speaking of Wobbledogs, that game really is toadbully breeder simulator already.
Even the breeding process includes literal SMASHING and SLAMMING

The difference is the dogs in the game don't look as wrinkled and butt-ugly as real ones, they're geometric so you can see the changes in each generation easier. I let my little sister play around in wobbledogs on my computer for a few weeks and she ended up eventually successfully selectively breeding:
- a dog with NO legs (SMASHED AND SLAMMED SERPENTINE SUCCESS??),
- a dog whose body was too short to fit the legs so it started growing legs on its side and back, like, horizontally.. (ULTIMATE TOADLINE PHISIQUE??)
... I get the feeling that the anon who brought it up doesn't think very highly of it, but for a silly little game, wobbledogs really is already the game they're looking for. All that would be different is having bully-like models for the dogs/body parts, and a more complex public trading/economic system.

The Shar pei has had some unfortunate breeding this past 50 years.
Here an old photo of the Shar pei. Despite being an ancient breed, there were only about 60 dogs left in the 1970s.

And here some current photos of some well bred ones in China. These are referred to as Traditional "bone-mouth" Shar pei's. These are very rare.

Now here are some American Kennel Club approved Sharpei's which is called the "wrinkle-mouth" or "meat-mouth" Shar pei.

This type exists because the Guinness book of world records named the Shar pei as the rarest dog in the world. Suddenly Americans wanted to buy them and the subsequent demand in breeding would cause them to develop the excess skin. The Americans who bought them simply didn't realize that they weren't the proper Shar pei's and the American Kennel club would use the excess skin as a primary indicator of the breed which would then encourage breeders to pick out the droopier dogs as the ideal phenotype.

And they're even worse as puppies.

Their skin gives them a range of horrible skin conditions including atopic dermatitis, juvenile onset demodicosis, allergic skin disease, cutaneous mucinosis, intertrigo, otitis externa, and vasculopathy. They also get a type of inherited fever called Shar Pei fever which is exclusive to the breed. 23% of the "wrinkle-mouth" type will get this. Repeated fever will eventually cause liver and kidney failure.

Because of the massive wrinkles over their eyes it can cause the skin around the eyes to be pulled inwards meaning the eyelashes can constantly poke the eyes. This will damage the eye and eventually cause blindness if untreated. I imagine it's also extremely annoying and painful for the poor dog.
The dogs can even get skin removal surgery around the eyes so they can see and prevent damage.


The dog in the 3rd pic is awake and has not been able to see for 4 years and is the same dog as the 4th picture.

I think I posted some unironic toadcore rap done by a breeder a few pages back as well. I tried to search for it on youtube and ran across this gem i've never seen before, its a fucking 15 year old video, like a time capsule of what bullies looked like in 2008, they still had their legs under them.

I got to know a king charles spaniel and the owner know about the issue the breed can have.
They had actually done health check for both him and his parents and so far, no issues.
They are prepared that something can happen, which would suck as it is such a sweet dog.

AKC has been a disaster for dogkind. The desire for dogs you can show on conformation alone, rather than ability, degrades everything because trends and "unique-ness" factor into the decisions. How anyone can mental gymnastics themselves into thinking these animals have a good enough quality of life to select for these traits and therefore the breeding isn't unethical are insane. I'm sure there are a lot who aren't genuine about "caring" but some people out there really are stupid enough not to put two and two together.

The Shar pei has had some unfortunate breeding this past 50 years.

I knew there's something wrong with them way before learning about breeding. My relative used to buy these dogs every couple of years and they kept dying because of their fucked up health. On top of skin and eyes-problems (that were just accepted as something normal for this breed) several of them had issues with their spine and legs, several others had to be taken to the vet quite often (sometimes several times a week) for a check-up and to get a new medicine for whatever was happening with their internal organs since the previous medicine wasn't helpful.
