If we take Aaron at his word about the relevant timeline, there were 7 weeks between him being exiled from the polycule and the arrest. If Rekieta just got worse in those 7 weeks—which from his streams appears to be the case—then a lot of the neglect could have ramped up recently. This doesn't excuse Aaron at all, but I would 100% believe that things intensified over the past 2 months after Aaron left.

I had a brief professional interaction with Nick some years ago and I recall being impressed at how gracious and down-to-earth he was. I thought, "This is a guy you could probably go to for life advice."

I haven't followed Nick's YouTube activity closely, and I was only dimly aware of his weird polyamorous lifestyle, so the developments of the past few weeks have amazed me -- not just because of the precipitous decline in Nick's appearance and comportment, or because of the crimes he's alleged to have committed, but because of his reckless lack of reflection and his unwillingness to treat his situation seriously. Somehow, it's less shocking to me that Nick is apparently an out-of-control, child-neglecting drug addict than that his response to all this is, "I've done nothing wrong; my critics are all suffering from confirmation bias." It amazes me that the guy who immediately impressed me with his responsibility and lack of pretension has somehow transformed into the babbling, delusional egomaniac we're now observing in this thread. There are people locked in padded rooms with greater self-awareness than Nick has displayed in the past week.
