Yeah I'm utterly confused as to why Aaron has access to his kids at all and why his ex hasn't made a criminal complaint herself for child endangerment.

I don't know about full custody, but it certainly gives her lawyers a lot of ammo for negotiation if she wants to. Aaron says she's cool because he claim clean. I'd like to doubt, but she did marry and have children with Aaron, so.
I do not live in Minnesota, but I've watched a friend go through a nasty divorce with children where I live and the state's position here is that they want both parents in the children's lives. My buddies ex-wife is a piece of shit and has proven it, but it was a multi-year process to get sole custody and he started out with primary custody. He probably could have pressed harder, but his attorney advised against it saying let her hang herself.
Someone in Rekietas thread she has a bunch of other kids after Aaron, taking on an aditional 3 kids when you already have 3-4 yourself is a massive undertaking.

They just as likely wanted attention as couldn't feed themselves, probably more likely imo. Kids often want want adults to do stuff for them they can do themselves because it makes them feel loved and taken care of. It's endearing and annoying as shit.

The other thing you have to worry about is mom and are either coked up or brutally crashing. Chances are if those kids made any noise when mommy and daddy were sleeping off the daily bender, all hell was unleashed
On top of this, the kids can't go grocery shopping unless the 17 year old has a license and can pry some of the drug money away from mom and dad.

Aaron is an envious. obnoxious dick bag and is an active abuser Just think about who you'd rather be employed by. Sure, Nick is a hedonist and a degenerate but he doesn't give off the vibe of someone else who'd be cruel for its own sake or drag himself into an unnecessary fight. It's part of why it's so tragic that he fell. But Aaron is transparently bad news. He seems like someone who was just born as a scumbag and hes a very stupid scumbag. The whole reason he's locked in that basement is because he got his ego tripped by a woman getting the job he wanted and ran a public harassment campaign on her for upstaging him. He's admitted to cheating on the women in his life 7 times and he publicly likes to put his wife down on his radio show in front of live audiences. The man clearly sees the people around him as tools and I wouldn't be surprised if he's date raped somebody.

The officer is being very specific to state how he knows that everything he was seeing was happening in that home so that no one can come back later and say "how did you know the debauchery was in his home and he wasn't just using his usual background on some other green screen?"
