I've finally caught up. Well done to everyone effortposting, shitposting and recapping. It hasn't been this hard to catch up to a thread since Ralph's generational late 2020 run.

Why is it every time he seems to discuss his children to someone it's to say how anxiety-riddled they make his life? He's just soooooooo busy all the time. it's so stressful. Boohoo dude. Many of us have know people with shit jobs raising just as many kids as you do and who weren't graced with a silver spoon up your ass due to granddaddy's money.

Nick and Kayla just refused to make meaningful changes to their lives that could have saved them. To give the smallest amount of credit to this whitebread ass nigga, most people raising 5 children are not doing micro schooling across a serious age gap. I also clown on him for moaning and bitching about the driving, but I've spoken to one person with two children that has their children in a similar setup and she's told me she spends around 4 hours a day driving. It's school where different classes can be 30 minutes away. With 5 children I can see how this could be difficult.

Where Nick and Kayla failed is the same reason why they're staring at 25 years: they are unbelievably lazy, irredeemably stubborn, aggressively overconfident and have next to zero emotional grit. Nick was made this way by a lifetime of excess and a safety net so comfortable he sometimes wouldn't even seriously try to leap. There are 20 different things they could do to streamline their lives. Instead they let themselves be ground down to the point where they completely gave up. The kids are a major point of stress to him, but as a man unused to dynamic serious action, he had no capacity for strong decision making and continued to do the same things expecting different results until they were weak enough to be susceptible to hedonism.

Kayla being a passive lazy do nothing has been a problem in their relationship for years. Kayla has expressed open anxiety and uncertainty about it. Nick's "I will be us" tattoo is a real indictment of his mindset regarding their relationship. I'm sure if really probed, he feels like he's doing it all. Nick positioned himself as a true head of household but skipped the part where you have to make tough decisions and have tough conversations early. Kayla's laziness and Nick's reckless desire to compensate for it is one of the many tumors that was slowly killing their marital relationship and their relationship with everyone else including their children. Then he blew it all up. This is self-harm when faced with difficult problems.
