The whole video is a pretty fascinating case study of mental illness, I finally was able to stomach watching the important parts via a commentary video. Holy hell, is this dude's (I'm going to keep referring to him vaguely, I genuinely cannot for the life of me remember his damn channel name for more than 5 minutes) voice grating, it makes me wonder if his whiny attitude and demeanor developed because of his voice, or his voice ended up like that because of his attitude. Anyways, here's a list of some of the shit that really stood out about this headcase to me:
- This one is probably the most glaring and obvious, but as somebody who values not taking psychological damage from prolonged exposure to Breadtubers beyond clips, seeing how warped his view on the political spectrum was frankly appalling. There's a lot of shit I felt like he brought up which I feel were intentionally bad faith to spread what really is no better than propaganda, but the particular "no leftist or centrist would ever say antifa member" quote stood out to me as something he genuinely believes. Whatever this guy thinks the political spectrum looks like is disgustingly out of alignment with an average person's perspective.
- His attitude - holy fuck, what a whiny bitch. I think Orwell wrote about his disgust at the types of supporters socialism inevitably attracted, and oh boy was this guy hitting all of those spots. He has absolutely zero constitution of his own, so he acts like the ultimate victim when criticism is turned against him, but is quite goddamn ballsy when talking about other people. Dishing it out without being able to take it is absolute weasel shit. I suppose it's a bit of a hallmark of BreadTubers in general though.
- His absolutely muddled perspective of politics and his pitiful constitution are exactly how he ended up thinking Wendigoon would be a soft target - at least for the audience he was hoping to attract. I'm sure that within his safe leftoid hugboxes, seething about the Christian gun owner was palpable, so he assumed there would be a large audience who would glom onto his every word and he'd have a far larger defense in his favor than actually truly existed. He truly was unwilling to even conceive that anybody sitting in the normal bounds of the political spectrum have the capability to connect to creators they may not personally agree with, especially when they don't make their politics and opinions an overbearing part of their content. But I suppose getting a bearing on that would something something nine Nazis at a table or whatever.
- My personal favorite is the seething jealousy towards Wendigoon. I loved his bellyaching about his financial situation. This fucker actually thinks he somehow deserves Wendigoon's audience numbers, but he genuinely can't comprehend that unlike him, Wendigoon has the looks, the charisma, the likeability, and the lack of misery to actually have people enjoying his content. It probably also helps that as a Christian, Wendigoon actually has a grounded moral compass that probably prevents pants on head retarded takes like "the cannibals that were killing the family whose car broke down were the good guys killing colonists actually, and they are supposed to represent American Indians"
The entire concept for the video was the perfect confluence of derangement. I think he actually thought it would be like the hbomberguy plagiarism video. I guess in a way, it was, Internet Historian's entertainment value and charisma had him dodging any kind of serious damage to his brand, and it turns out people who make entertaining content get a lot of leeway for what they can get away with.
But just think, if the public's reaction to his retarded take on The Hills Have Eyes drove him to this level of derangement, I can't imagine how much more detached from reality he'll be if he actually ever returns. I'm thinking it'll be absolute kino.
I swear this all stems from that one tranny that was moderator of r/youtubedrama (edit: their name was u/brainybiscuit). They were a big time Wendigoon alog (among many others they alogged, to the point where they had to be removed as a mod for being too biased) and I feel like they really poisoned the well when it came to anything Wendigoon related.
You are probably giving way too much credit to that troon, while they probably did help contribute to getting this asshole to believe that there was a more sizeable anti Wendigoon sentiment than truly exists, I think something like this was bound to come from this whiny bitch regardless, as it is pure, seething jealousy.
