Nick has claimed on stream that his parents were in Minnesota at least twice recently. On his April 16th stream he says his "dad was hanging out here the other day". On his May 15th stream he says that his mother was watching the children on Mother's Day.
I wonder how those visits went.
Nick and Kayla, trying and failing, to prove everything was totally FINE!!!! His parents would have been worried, they aren’t idiots. Nick was even making his meltdown very public and easily viewable so his parents didn’t even have to rely reading tea leaves from Florida.
I think one of the major reasons Nick and Kayla continued the church attendance, even after it became a source of tension, was it was a little litmus test. I’m sure asking about church and school activities was a big part of the discussions with the grandparents and relatives. Nick and Kayla suddenly dropping the church and homeschool would have been a red flag to both sides of the family. I think they believed as long as they got the kids to school and church everything was normal and fine.
Nick’s parents knew he was a knuckle head. I think they had great concerns about him in his twenties. He needed to be a professional and family man to get nice slices of that trust fund.
He away from his family to live among Kayla’s family. I’m sure it helped with the kids, but it allowed Nick to be the big man in charge there and away from close attention from his own parents. Kayla’s family must have treated him like a god sent son-in-law. The fine Christian man with a giant trust fund that let their princess be the mother of five in a fancy home.
I’ve wondered if certain members of Kayla’s family have relied on Nick’s deep pockets. Nick did mention “family” living in their other house. It would further explain Kayla’s desperation to keep Nick happy.
I don’t think it’s a stretch to think Nick might have extended generosity to her immediate family that would have given him control and leverage over them. This is pretty common when you have one extremely wealthy family member among normal or middle class ones that still have to deal with working real jobs to survive.
Is his a MIL or SIL going to confront Nicky about all his whoring or drinking if he loaned them a down payment, given them his old luxury SUV or lets them live in his “extra” house for cheap or free? Are they going to say no to babysitting when Nick and Kayla want to a swingers convention in Vegas?
We know Kayla’s family lives close by. They would have seen all this shit up close and been talking to the kids. We don’t know what they did or didn’t do, but I imagine Nick would have tried to ensure he had a lot of leverage in the overall family dynamic and they would have feared confronting King Nick. Either way they kept it in the family and maintained strict silence about Nick on SM. AFAIK he’s not even catching a few strays from a cousin on FB muttering what an asshole he’s been to Kayla since he got e-famous.
