WhatifAltHist / Rudyard Lynch - History youtuber, galaxy brained, no credentials and no sex

Apparently Rudyard has a podcast with some finance bro/grifter named Erik Toren(((berg))).
View attachment 6010996
Hes seemingly based out of San Francisco and does a lot of finance/manosphere adjacent podcasts, so I wonder what his game is with Rudy/if this partnership will implode because of him sperging out about some niche topic hes hyper-invested in.

I was surprised to find that Erik's checkmark and follower count predate Elon Musks's operation of Twitter. Now that Twitter traffic is 60% bots, and now that checkmarks are available for anybody to purchase, it's super easy to look important on that site. Apparently he became verified after Feb 2019 and before May of that year. His follower count also doubled by 2020. This coincides with Torenberg making his most popular tweets around this period, according to Xitter's own display.

Why would he want to hang out with Rudyard? Probably because Erik's playing with his reflection. This moron talks exactly like AltHist.

To be real, they're probably just hanging out because their both Twitter addicts, and because Torenberg and Lynch have both been milquetoast and acceptable in their social critiques so far. Rudyard is obviously becoming more unhinged by the day though. Erik could be forced to cut ties if his co-host continues to decline and embarrass himself.

To the anime avatars: @WelperHelper99, @Toji Suzuhara, @Henya's Revenge, remember to post for posterity. This thread isn't a chatroom and the last page was pretty terrible. I know that we've been eating good and it's exciting but try to keep on topic. This is a small thread and we'd all appreciate it. Thanks!

Nigga you post on my wall then @me. You have 7 posts. Calm down. This is how threads work.

Tell me that you haven't seen a thread reach maturity without telling me you haven't seen a thread reach maturity. The latter pages of the Gab thread are the perfect example of this, if you want to look what peak KF looks like, just look up the Nick thread since yesterday afternoon

Here's the link for the Japan video just in case someone wants to see it
Technical difficulties, Dear Feeder won't be pleased. I will post the archive a soon as possible

Assume that this ALWAYS appears at least once in every video about the world/history

First he whines about how hard and time-consuming it is to make new videos about civilizations instead of geopolitics, and that he read 6 books just to make this one video, gloating about how big-brained and knowledgeable he now is+ Hype for new videos about Central Asia and (((the greatest allies))).

Warthunder plug, because the fall of the West doesn't mean that you shouldn't spend money on Gaijinslop. We start by going how Japan is one of the most culturally influential countries in the world, equiparating it with scandinavia becuase both ethnic groups have largely remained undisturbed througout history (4k years in the case of incel prudes, allegedly, massive genetic contributions from basically all of north europe that had access to the sea due to male and female slaves reaching the region? Don't think about it), and with Britain due to their geography. We then overstimate the influence of the barbaric/viking invasions in modern british society, while downplaying the fact that Japan, while not suffering from these invasions, owes most of its cultural practices to mainland Asia (these guys are literally sea koreans that write in modified chinese characters and believe in a buddhist/taoist/confucian sincretic religion). Now we go to comparisions with Germany, by basically saying that both countries were tribes at first, became large but decentralized states by copying another nearby civilizations, with such decentralization leading to their downfall, thus sparking a secular-religious divide, then the countries went through a massive war, with the difference being that Japan unified and Germany didn't, rapidly industrialized under a semi-liberal order, turned nationalist, WW2 happens, became american puppets and had an economic boom once again. Do you know what other country also shares these similarities?
1716692599154.png

Superior mexicojin herrenvolk baby!!!
Now we have a plug of his podcast with Eric Torenberg. Size (land area) comparision of britbongland and Japan, brits=Alabama, japs=Montana, while pointing out that the japs live in cities more packed than a can of sardines, while being surprised that you can sustain larger populations using rice instead of wheat, having read an entire book to figure that out.

This geography and agricultural system leading to a more collectivist society, with China and India allowing a significant amount of difference to the norm, while Japan doesn't at all, proving due to their GDP and QoL (alongside Korea) that collectivist societies can be wealthy as well.
Captura de pantalla 2024-05-25 221637.png

Can a farmcel confirm this?

Captura de pantalla 2024-05-25 222802.png

Collectivist social order in China (enforced by the state) and India (enforced by religion), according to Rudie. While in Japan, such collectivism is enforced due to the tyranny of cousins/cultural tyranny (Fukuyaman concept), thus having very aggressive social expectations and focusing on very minor things, Rudyard deduced this by reading this book. He also read this other book, obliviously pointing out that most of what he read dealt with how to interact with the japanese, i.e. they are marketed to foreigners, his main takeaways being that their society is focused at avoiding rejection due to the lack of socio-geographical mobility as populations there weren't as flexible as in the anglo-germanic world, (idk why he specified anglo-germanic, even people like the arabs moved a lot and they don't hare many similarities) and that they went along with the majority opinion and tried to not contradict their superiors.

Sperging out about his 'scots-irish ancestry' "This [not contradicting others] is interesting to me since I'm from a different honor culture since I'm of Irish and Scottish ancestry, growing up my parents both told me that honor was the most important thing in life and if someone insulted my honor it was my duty to fight back" Tooootally believeable, pal. This "honor culture" in Japan is the opposite than the one among the celts, with their honor being based around face and knowing their place, while the celtic one is built around "freedom and individuality" (blacks scots-irish built this country, motherfucker!)

Captura de pantalla 2024-05-25 230259.png

Handy dandy scale for societies, with the added comentary of the american and japanese societies being high-trust, while the native american and indian/african being low-trust, the first and third are individualistic, while the second and fourth are collectivist.

Captura de pantalla 2024-05-25 230627.png

This is basically FLCL IRL, just swap the little girl for a robot with a TV for a face
The japanese are a group that heavily prioritizes the local group, explaining their brutality during WW2 and their self-perception as a special, superior group, this sometimes devolving into blind trust and abdication of responsability to the group, unlike the celts, the greatest country on earth! The freest people on earth!

Due to the japs doing what they are told autonomously, they don't look at the greater ramifications of their ctions, with pre-WW2 Japan being a patriotism dick-measuring contest, this being the sole reason as to why they entered the war (Opportunism? Hubris? Pre-existing animosity? Nah, those concepts are too complex for Rudie to grasp), and the '92 crash being due to money printing, (no shit Sherlock, devaluing the yen was the whole point) instead of Plaza Accords repercusions, post-Oil Crisis vulnerabilities leading to a reduced focus on industry and reliance on services and speculation or just an unstable economic climate (the third/fourth largest economy, that amounted around 10% of the world GDP, just got sent to the shadow realm)

The japanese want things without any restraint due to the lack of cultural feedback loops to stop this, just like in Germany. "Japan has produced no great thinkers, no technological innovation, or incredible breakthroughs since it's a culture which does not allow bucking the consensus" Total Null Approval. This allowing them to make rapid changes at a fast pace (in other words, japs have BPD) and the existance of a big goverment. A new book, which Rudie's takeaway from it is that Japan is a socialist economy, because the motherfucking managerial class was powerful and big goverment=socialism, making them a state-sponsored economy (which were basically all of the world's economies until the mid-1700s, take that, anti-communists, real socialism has been tried).

Back to our first book, The Chrysanthemum and the Sword, which talks about the duality of bushido and zen (basically that the society is not a simple one-note concept and posseses nuance between war and peace, conflict and harmony, etc.), with said bushido going from being found within the samurai and other such warriors to the managerial class, built using said warriors during the 16th and 17th centuries.

Buddhism has become ubiquitous of Japan, with the zen and pure lands currents being the most important factions of it, thus Japan turned towards minimalism (don't look what an itacha is, ignore that word immediately) and became the only creative culture left in the world, as we are too rational due to our lack of meta-narratives (?), unlike the japanese, who have embraced irrational thinking, allowing them to not be stuck in ideological cages. While they can't invent things due to this, this allows them to excel at improving them, and other material things like mechanics, art, or war, with their WW2 military doctrine and post-WW2 industry sidestepping the West's.

"The japanese are the great non-western power that were able to defeat the West at their own game" partly due to being the only region in Asia during the 17th century where Christianity was popular (pinoys literally BTFO'd) and history of rapid changes like during the importation of chinese culture during the 8th century. This is also thanks to their development of feudalism, giving them competing social structures (never seen that anywhere else, indian competing caste system? Ottoman viyalet and dihmmi/turkic nobles/arab peasants/janissary soldiers dynamics? As absent as Rudie's gf) aand property rights, which even Rudie says didn't exist, the goverment simply didn't abuse them as much, and being the only country in east Asia with a concept of honor, just like europe. Such aspects allowed them to develop a pluralistic society, due to having many cultural elements independent from the state (samurais were state actors, the buddhists were the state's religious enforcers, Christianity got stamped out due to direct state action, ignore that)

Captura de pantalla 2024-05-26 003658.png

"Emmanuel Todd is filling in gaps of knowledge that we have no idea how we could possible have information on" Zero self-awareness.

"Japanese clans played a much smaller role when compared to the rest of Asia, just like with the celtic clans" Potatonigger, I simply can't keep up with this.

Captura de pantalla 2024-05-26 000916.png

Rudie needs to discover what Cyberpunk is now, or has a social understanding that's stuck in the 80s

"There are no neighboring countries capable of colonizing Japan in any sense" This man ha literally removed the pinoys from reality.

"The story never stops and our current ERA will be remembered as a short blip in the continuous history of Japan the Japanese have a lot to be proud of as one of the most impressive nations in the world"

Japan is a very neotenous popultion (read: pedophile), alongside the West Coast and the Netherlands (he said he would addres this later in the video, and never did)
Uff, that was intense

Rudyard did some more tweeting last week. Nothing groundbreaking, but they did amuse me so I will share.

First off, gossip and edrama confirmed for number one threat to the west. Kiwifarms BTFO.

No idea what this means, but Rudy found it funny and I guess I do too.

Wait...how does working an office job "destroy" a woman's body? Sure, you're less likely to be fit than if you're a farmer, but plenty of fat women work in retail and plenty of fit women work in offices. I even knew a fat female farmer!

honorculture.png
This one is just so self aggrandizing. Rudy is a good person! He does make some points I agree with but also goes way out there. Also, I'm pretty sure the Chinese government isn't killing millions of people today. Where the hell does that come from? The worst of the Uhyger shit ended years ago, and only a tiny percentage of those affected were actually killed. Don't get me wrong, it's an oppressive shit hole but there haven't been mass killings in decades. Still more real than trans genocide though.

And, finally, a reasonably reasonable post.

Actually provides some insightful commentary and no narcissism is present. Great work

I won't go over it now and maybe he's posted it before, but here's the link for Rudyard's Goodreads.

Edit: Repeated a sreenshot, forgot one.

I live with the daily fear that my son will grow up to be like Rudyard
Don't constantly say he's so smart, pseudointellectuals like Rudy start out this way.

No, you tell him that he's too smart and good for this world, and that's why you are sending him to a far away monastery, that's the trad way of dealing with unfixable know-it-alls

Rudyard has like the BDP of narcissism. One day he will tell how smart and important and capable of shaping the narrative he is, the other he will start doomerposting about how nothing can be done and there's no hope and the like, it's like he's unable to make good out of a bad situation

Isn't Central Park, well, a park? This would imply that the afro-latino is actually a faustian an-prim with libertarian tendencies that also venerates masculinity more than the female form, basically 75% of what accounts like these post but with dark mode on

Lack of sunlight and exercise can actually be very damaging for a woman due to their already high fat concentration when compared to men, but unless you start chain-smoking and binge-drinking coffee to stay away till 3 A.M. you won't end up terribly bad

That's why you wait till marriage, fornicators BTFO'd. And the Spanish Inquisition thing was complete bullshit, the Golden Century literally started just after the Inquisition, we had El Bosco, El Greco, Cervantes, the School of Salamanca, Lazarillo de Tormes, Diego Velázquez, Garcilaso de la Vega, La Celestina, Juan de Mariana, who basically was the anti-Machiavelli and created the right to revolt as a concept. What Rudyard says goes literally aganist observable reality.

All of the things that Rudie says regarding gossip come off as someone that has terrible skeletons in the closet and knows that when people start looking into it they will spread like wildfire. Gossip is literally how news start, how evil is exposed, how the bad people are brought in line by the shaming of good people, I don't really know how Rudyard expects to have a moral society while also being aganist the only method that maintains a moral society

Rudy has not read the works of F Scott Fitzgerald, most famous work being The Great Gatsby, though in this case I'm talking about all of his works. More drugs, sex, whores, and blatant cheating in the 20th century than today honestly. Today you just see it through a camera.
.

Popular culture was also more sanitized.
Well there's a reason Fitzgerald only got popular after his death. He actually wrote about life how it was at the time. The 20th century wasn't sanitary, far from it. Two world wars, combined you had near 100 million killed, countless rapes and massacres, etc. It only looks sanitary because the movies made it look that way.

Technically The Great Gatzby is about a guy who became a betabux in order to finally get his oneitis only for Chad to cuck his vehicle and run over the Becky he was banging. Just like irl Chad fucking gets away with it too 😢

Myers-Briggs is based on but isn't the same thing as Jungean typology. Most people either heavily gravitate towards INTP or just get a different result every time. Jungean typology, on the other hand, was never intended to be a quick diagnosis tool.

Also zoomer doomerism is getting really annoying. He first complains about women emotionally dumping online, then spews out fifty paragraphs of text crying about how the West is doomed and everyone but him is at fault. The lack of self awareness is something to behold.

Uff, that was intense

Thanks for saving a considerable amount of my brain cells.
