I thought it was until a note from the jury is read or something. If the jury is dismissed no verdict is happening today and I do not think they are going to set up cots.

This whole thing creates a situation that nobody stopped to consider when how the presidency was going to work was being worked out. Mostly because everyone assumed that nobody in prison was going to be elected to office for obvious reasons. It creates a bizarre technicality, but one that for all practical purposes prevents trump from taking office even if he did get elected while in prison. There is no provision in the law that says you get paroled, pardoned or otherwise released if you get elected to office. Nor is it practical to attempt to do the job from inside of a prison for obvious reasons

The most likely outcomes assuming trump ends up in prison are either the government passing a law prohibiting a felon from running for office/taking office (which makes sense anyway considering felons already can't legally vote anyway so its odd they'd be able to hold an office they can't even legally vote for themselves) or that, if trump were to somehow win the election, the matter would be quickly escalated to the supreme court, who would consider trumps inability to assume the office in his position the legal equivalent to a form of incapacity to hold office and he'd be declared unfit for office, the same as if he'd had a serious stroke or whatever, and the VP would be made president instead

Democrats have already tried to fix the protection problem by trying to pass a bill to strip anyone convicted of a felony of secret service protection.

Also, you can't change eligibility without changing the constitution, and the supreme court already smacked down the eligibility question (9-0). Fuckery will likely not be tolerated. If he wins while in jail or prison, SC will likely mandate release until the presidency is over.

Trump should keep bringing up support for Israel against Biden.

Forcing Biden to declare his love for Israel and watch his poll numbers sink even further among the Democrats. And fracture the Democratic base further.

Don't candidates get Secret Service protection regardless of former presidency status? Or did they include that in the stripping bill?

No one really knows whats going on anymore. This is Clown World MK2 and it's pretty much a runaway train at this point.

Oh for the days when I thought a shadowy cabal of dark figures were in control of the world with a evil master plan being subtle executed by skilled smart operators, instead I find out it's just morons all the way down doing whatever their little monkey brain sez is best in that extract split second.

They were going to change post-presidency Secret Service protection during the nigger's administration because they wanted to strip Dubya of it. BDS still stronk then. They creamed their pants at the thought of Dubya having to pay for his own security, or him getting assassinated some day. It was going to be 10 years after the end of your term, no more Secret Service for you. Then they realized it would apply to the nigger as well so they gave up on it
