A long time ago I read "Johnny Tremain", a book about a young man just prior to the Revolutionary War.

In it, Johnny goes to court. During court, the wealthy guy and the judge do snuff together. It's there he realizes that he won't get any justice.

All that remains is for someone to get liquid silver poured on their hand.

I had to write a report on that. If I remember he does get liquid silver, he touches something burning and can no longer be a silver smith the ending is good the midwife/ nurse was wrong and it’d be an easy fix, but he’s already shed blood for the cause.
