Didn't he also admit on the stand that he made the payment to Stormy of his own initiative? It was invoiced to Trump as legal expenses. The only direct claim that Trump knew was a 60 second phone call to someone in Trump's security that was about Cohen being harrassed, with documented evidence showing that's what the purpose of that call. Yet Cohen also claimed he spoke to Trump in the phone call about Stormy?

From my understanding, he's basically convicted of 34 counts of the same charge of manipulating business records or something.

Basically it's all or nothing. I don't think there's an argument where he can be guilty of one but not guilty of 33 (unless the appeals court basically states that breaking up a payment into 34 chunks is still only one payment).
