I'll give you a serious answer. If something happened(it won't) you're a lot more likely to be killed by random violence or having food/water stolen than you are to be killed for political reasons. You're a lot more likely to find yourself in a Hurricane Katrina situation than on the frontlines of a civil war and the average person is capable of preparing for a breakdown in rule of law.

Scheduling the sentencing date for 4 days before the Republican convention starts isn't a "we don't actually want to jail him" move, it's a "we desperately hope sentencing him to infinity years in jail for being Orange gets RINOs on board with a backdoor scheme to replace him, and hopefully that's enough time to accomplish it while it's still fresh in everyone's memory" move.

A year or two ago I was certain the GOP would kick Trump off in these circumstances, but after his daughter in law got installed I'm less sure. It would a lot messier to do it now than 10 months ago.
