There was no crime. The DA invented a crime from whole cloth to bring charges, then the judge made up the law as he went along to ensure a conviction. It will be appealed and overturned whether that is the supreme court or a lower appeals court. The purpose of the kangaroo trial wasn't to make a "sticky" conviction but one part derail the election and one part fulfill debts owed by the DA on promises made to the voters and others.

This season of "The Free World" is getting wild but I don't think they'll go for the Prison President arc, it'll be too hard to top next season and the ratings will fall. I might be wrong though, maybe they've got some shit planned, the writers have been fairly good lately.

Now that Trump is a convicted felon, can he still own a gun?

My Eurotrash understanding of US gun laws is that being a felon excludes one from being able to hold a license, but some have claimed that it's possible to "own" a gun by having someone else on the paperwork.
Again, depends on the individual state of course, but generally speaking, is he now prohibited from firearm ownership?

Most likely they'll give him house arrest with tons of restrictions to stop him from campaigning, then after the election is over they'll give him life in prison for something else. Seems like a clear path forward to neutralize him without making him martyr before the election.
