I mean, it's all part of the grift anyway. At some point he will drop Rekieta and do a huge stream titled "This breaks my HEART... but I HAVE to do it" where he will say he was standing by a friend, not realizing how deeply troubled he was, and get a bunch of engagement and superchats that way.
The Yaira book is out, he's been saved from having to give Rekieta the Old Yeller treatment. For now.

This 1000%. Not to get in over my head with armchair psychologizing, but I think it's pretty clear the reason why EVS is the way he is today is because of his fucked-up childhood. He's a completely cynical, bitter, untrustworthy con artist, narcissist who trusts no one, uses people instead of maintaining healthy relationships, constantly lies to himself and others, creates grandiose fantasies about himself and his own importance, etc. The fact that he grew up in such a hostile environment probably made him cynical, mistrustful of people, and willing to do anything to advance himself at the expense of others. The fact that he was poor and neglected as a child is probably why he is so self-indulgent now.
This is Frog's cope equivalent to the "My channel is under attack" videos from other channels when they get 10 less views on a video about a topic everyone from 10 to 1 million subs is doing a video about.

i've been slowly catching up in this thread, bouncing between the Rekieta shitshow, but i think i asked this in Nick's thread but never got an answer. What broke EVS seethe this much? Him and his minions. Even during the Metokur stream when he was praising Eric there were a bunch of spergs just spamming the same message over and over calling the comic shit, saying Jim is stupid and to talk to EVS and coping to levels i've never seen before. On time book? ON TIME BOOKS caused all of this?
Basically, EVS was the warlord who ruled CG, and he was ripping off his customers by crowdfunding comics without delivering them. (He is years late on several of his own projects.) He was also the top earner in CG. Then EJ showed up, has had massive success, and, most importantly, EJ is publishing and delivering his comics in a timely manner.
Yes. The fact that Eric built an audience, and built into that audience a regular opportunity to buy music, hats, tshirts, etc. from him loooong before the Rippaverse was made public, or perhaps even a plan in motion. Eric trook 17 years to build up his media presence, and then cashed that in to start his own company.
Others in this thread have noted that having the biggest sales was always Ethan's shield against criticism. All of his unethical business practices and contempt for his backers was justified by his loyalists with the cope of "Well, he's sold $1.2 million so he must be doing something right"
He is an SJW who tries to cancel and slander other people. There isn't a single event that broke him. The more people learned about him and saw his actions, the less they wanted to do with him, which he sees as backstabbing and a justification to ramp up gay-ops against those who don't want anything to do with him anymore. He was scum all along, it just took some time for everyone to notice it.
You can tell some people in that Metokur chat are Dick Show followers because they have been directed to spam the rabbit and chicken emojis. Once again refer to this summary of the Eric vs EVS situation.
