One Piece - I'm Gonna Be the Pirate King!

I always suspected that Roger called it Laugh Tale but when word spread it got confused with Raftel. Not sure if it existed in the original or not but only a few people would know it's original name.
The World Government did it on purpose just like with his name

Random question: What do you think would it take for Yamato to stop calling herself Oden? I think marrying Momonosuke and inheriting the Kozuki name legally ought to do it. That way she can call herself a Kozuki for real. Seriously, losing your parents to a gang, being stranded at sea, starvation, being tortured and after all that trauma, a chick your age comes and tells you she is your dad. Life just played a massive joke at the expense of that little fella. I would not be surprised if she awoke trauma to every Kozuki supporter she encounders and there are demands she stops.
i have never thought about it as if she is saying she is oden himself but she is trying to embody his spirit instead. i dont think anyone would be too upset by it especially if momo tells everybody its fine. i think yamato just needs to see the world and over time she will just stop. especially since she no longer has to deal with kaido. i would also not be surprised if she does join up with the straw hats again in order to see the final island just like oden did.

but who knows she might also just be stuck with the oden stuff because his adventures were one of the things that kept her in good spirits. same with how she was waiting for ace to come back as well.

Sounds like somebody needs therapy.

How would talk or behavioral therapy even work in the One Piece world when weird, cartoony (and occasionally psychotic) shit is the norm?
Therapist : "Why don't you tell me about your childhood"

Robin: "Well..The Island I lived on was carpet bombed by the World Government because they were researching history and because I escaped the Government put a bounty on me that has hounded me my entire life."

Therapist : "Oh...well.."

And how does that make you feel?

Honestly, I wonder if One Piece is one of those things where the characters are at the point of “the therapist needs a therapist”.

I dunno, Does Saul need a Therapist? he seems to be the closest thing to a therapist the setting has.

"Shit sucks Yo..don't let it beat you tho"

Therapists are almost anathema to Japan. They believe home problems should be resolved at home. When they see someone approaching a complete breakdown due to, what we in the west consider, a perfectly manageable mental illness that could be solved with prescription drugs that do not even have adverse effect, they just tell them "do your best" and "do not cause trouble for others". And then, the meltdown begins, then they act sad and ask "how this have happened" and whether or not there was something they could have done to prevent this. The answer is there is something (therapy) but it is nothing they would be willing to do. So instead of addressing their true problems, they will just ban ponytails or something instead so that it at least looks like they are doing something. Japan 's war against the practice of Psychotherapy is one only surpassed by Scientology 's. That has been well documented.

Japan is absolutely correct: Therapy is a scam. There is nothing worse for a society than a framework whereby everyone has an excuse for why they can't function on a normal adult level. America is riddled with worthless parasites claiming that they can't work hard or make good decisions because they have "anxiety" or "PTSD."

No, you don't have "anxiety." You're just a piece of shit.

Woke therapy is a scam. There are actual mental illnesses that can be managed especially if caught early. The special treatment, however, attracts snowflakes and "bandits" who try to take advantage of the system. And then, there are woke doctors that want to push their agenda. Also, there are those who are afraid that they will be canceled if they do not agree with a child or parent when they come in with a self-diagnosed gender disphoria.

Therapy, by itself, is not a scam but it is at a horrible era.
