I always got the impression that there was something mentally off with her and that was part of the whole deal with their relationship. (Almost like a lesser version of JF honestly) Nick basically gets a doll but she is not capable of actually taking care of the kids or household to a high degree so they need the nanny and Nick to run around doing stuff, even though they have a full time stay at home mom.

That being said I have no sympathy. Though she has admittedly been on stream directly very little, I've never picked up on any maternal instinct from her at all. She just went along with all this shit to the detriment of her kids. Even a retarded mother can have the instinct to shield her kids from the shit that is hurting them, she's been all too happy to just turn into a drugged out whore in front of her children.

Totally agree, if there was maternal instinct, she would have fought against Nicks behavior and made him keep his streams a lot cleaner than what they descended into.

As a therapist, I typically see that when there's that many kids, they naturally grow up quicker because they have to help around the house to some degree. It's not uncommon to hear that the eldest child will follow a typical path. With girls, they become lesser mothers, with their needs becoming secondary to their siblings and help around the house and boys quite often just detach and fend for themselves.

To answer the all balldo defender of why didn't the 16 year old take care of them, why can't the kids wash themselves and their clothes. They all fail to realise that Nicks wealth allowed for these things that this many children would normally learn, not to be learnt.
I think if there wasn't stay at home kayla, a nanny or grandparents helping out, these kids would have learnt to take care of themselves but they never had to. So when shit hit the fan, it became noticeable really quickly that Nick and Kayla were failing, where it may have taken longer if the kids weren't in such a privileged position.

I think there's definitely a feeling Nick wrangled a tard wife and not a trad wife though.

As a long-time lurker, I, for one, am grateful to @The-Patriarchy for clarifying the ownership of the homes. @Balldo's Gate and friends have done amazing work, but the many years of information can sometimes be hard to find on the Farms, especially with the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of lurkers who now come here.

Regarding a divorce scenario:

Kayla likely has some assets such as jewelry (seldom disputed for ownership in divorce), but the family trust would almost certainly exclude her, which is normal for trusts.

If you think it through, she will probably only have expected earnings based on Nick's past income (typically from the past 12-24 months). This might explain why he has consciously or unconsciously burned through it all with depreciating assets such as Mustangs and bad art.

Kayla wouldn't have claim to their primary home owned by the trust if the Trust excluded her, but she would certainly have claim to the other home on the adjoining property since her name is clearly on record for it- and that's an asset worth somewhere around 500K-600K depending on the real estate market,

Not that we really know what their status is, but if they end up splitting, she'd be able to at least claim half of that smaller house. Most folks won't dispute too hard over personal property unless it's something crazy valuable or they're a vindictive asshole (which is certainly a possibility here!)

It's unclear whether either of his parents talked to him about his clearly deteriorating physical condition, even if they didn't suspect he was addicted to drugs. The way Nick presented it, they did not raise any issue.

His dad definitely came up to check up on him and see wtf was going on with his own eyes. Remember the family trust owns the current home Nick and family live in.

Did they confront him about any of their concerns? Probably not directly. I’d assume it was more suggestions like coming down to spend a month in Florida with the family. One has to wonder where his dad stayed when visiting? The other house? Did Nick and Kayla have to do a manic clean up to get the house ready for grandpa to see? I’d imagine his dad coming was stressful since they had to sell him on everything being FINE! I’m sure April was just the new nanny that they were helping leave an abusive marriage, like any good Christian would do. She even goes to church with them so obviously everything is FINE.

One question you long term Balldo watchers might know. Does the family wealth come from the paternal or maternal side? The trust that owns their house doesn’t have the Rekita name, but another surname. I thought it might be the mother’s maiden name. It would make sense with Nick’s dad being an accomplished, upstanding business guy on his own. The type of guy a wealthy self-made man would want his daughter to marry. Just curious if Nick might have some of his weirdness about women due to his mother having outsize power due to her family having the wealth, not Dad’s.

If these really are long running issues it doesn't sound like a great environment for the kids to have grown up in, having a long term sick parent (or some kind of munchie, the children won't understand the difference) is very stressful in a lot of ways.
