We don't know, this is dated from 2022, but the series has supposedly been getting thrown around for a reboot since 2019. This could either be set in stone as what they are doing, be just one of several pitches, or even just be outright rejected. But it's from the original creators, so it's one of the potential futures for the franchise that they envisioned.

I don't see it that way and I'm surprised you say the left doesn't get it when the right is the party of traditions. You could have all the money in the world, but if you don't have anyone to share it with re: friends and family you are basically nothing.

I didn't read it too deeply but I wonder if they bring back the Ashley's or that kid that was king of the playground. How many Ashley's became young moms?

This show was actually boring as fuck and I watched it religiously as a kid. It just really lacked a sense of humor and borderlined on a drama as the conflicts were always these very big adult concepts scaled down to kids "playing house" within the confines of this created child society that had unwritten rules and expectations. That's really boring as a kids cartoon. The other shows had much more humor (whether gross out or actual jokes) compared to Recess.

In that perspective I can see why they tried to reboot it with similar themes but absolutely no one wants to watch kids dealing with today's issues in a kids cartoon. Not without the humor and you can't really have humor and the show is already dry so this best left as a childhood relic.

I might be interested in a Doug or Pepper Anne reboot. I think the latter would be really wild and possibly work with these dumb SJW themes a lot better.

I didn't watch Recess much as a kid but I did watch Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, Proud Family, Chowder etc. Proud Family already got a pozzed reboot (kinda saw it coming) but now I'm just slowly waiting for the other two.

It's like the only way they think they can relate to younger generations is by making everything a political statement or slapping a different color on a character for "diversity." Neither character is a lesbian. They never showed any signs of that in the show. I know they were like 10 years old and it was before all the pozzing. But it sounds like they were made queer because "Someone had to be".

Remember the episode where Spinelli briefly joined the Ashleys because it was discovered that her first name was Ashley and Ashleys were supposed to stick together? It was like putting a goat in with the sheep and pretending nothing was amiss. Yeah. The whole idea of that episode was that you don't have to be something you're not just because society pressures you into it. These boi-twats need to take a lesson from that episode and stop making pre-established characters gay because reasons.

Also, Ruby has such an uncreative design. She just looks like someone put Spinelli and Vince in a blender and called it a day. I know this is a stupid thing to say about a cartoon for children, but even as a small Miriam, the writing just felt fake and gay and inauthentic to me.

This was very much the problem with all Disney cartoons of the 90s. They always felt like attempts at appealing to kids while maintaining sensibilities that 90s parents would value. Even Disney cartoons like Gargoyles that everyone seems to love felt lame and inauthentic to me as a kid for this reason.
