I expect a spectacular crash and burn coming in the next few months.
I see this going one of two ways, with very little room for a middle path. Shockingly, I see both futures as equally plausible, which absolutely should not be the case if this was a normal man.
1. He hired a competent local (even if high octane) defense attorney and follows his advice. Nick will make post some video telling his fans that he's "sorry for letting them down" without admitting to guilt or speaking about specifics of the case. He'll check himself into rehab. He'll cop a sweet plea deal where he gives a statement before the court talking about how sorry he is for traumatizing his family, undermining the court system using his position as an officer of the court and member of the bar, making personal attacks on the judge, accusers, and police, and failing his family, friends, and the people of Minnesota. He will appear genuinely remorseful, and make some statement about how he is dedicated to cleaning himself up and focusing on his family before making unspecified but very meaningful and important contributions to the community. He'll get a deferred sentence and as long as he completes some rehabilitation and parenting program, this will all just be a bad memory.
2. He either takes on some fucking retard like Barnes or represents himself. He takes it all the way to the mat. He continues making retarded posts on social media and streams or published videos talking about the case. He goes all in on the "everyone's retarded but me" narrative. 50/50 he either violates the conditions of his bail or catches a new charge. Even if he doesn't, he takes it all the way to trial, loses horrifically, and is totally unrepentant at sentencing, and is bent over by the state and taken with no lube.
I genuinely don't see an alternative to one of these. It basically all boils down to "does he hire a competent attorney and listen to his advice or does he maintain the course?"
