It us great that he has recorded so much of his past, it makes it harder for him to lie about it, which he so often tries to do.
And the funny part is that Rambo for example still does movie projects together with Andre. And he looks not as old as Phil. And who knows I bet Phil still drunken tweets at John from time to time (or does gin texts) because he wants Rambo to come back ackackack.
And to think this only came from 1 full day of "bad streaming". Reminder: he still made over 80$ that day with Multiversus and Hades 2 (ignore the superchats and non-Argentinian memberships) This money for as he called himself "rinky-dink" streamer is way too much. I doubt Meerkat who has over 1k viewers when he restreams Phil makes that money during his streaming session. Phil is very lucky he has some dedicated mouth drooling dentheads supporting him. Otherwise he would live with Mommy and Daddy again complaining how life sucks. Good thing his reACK day made him more money. And that is probably the reason he will never change because his cult is basically conditioned to throw him money whenever he scolds them. I really want Phil to have a full week with 0$ in tips (and every otzher donation as well). Just to see the delicious panic sweat from every pore. It's the same song and dance, make an "unacceptable" amount during one stream, bitch and moan, say that things better change or it's getting taken away, retards piss themselves and give Phil the money, he keeps it going to another day, rinse and repeat.
Thing is, a lot of the choices Phil makes as a streamer do make sense, in a twisted and really dumb way. But this last shareholders meeting was an absolute disaster. It's not a 9 to 5. Even if it was, good fucking luck convincing your employer that "These things take time". This is absolutely the era of instant gratification, not just for common people and specially not just for kids and teens any more. Take ten minutes longer than average to do something and your ass is out the door in most jobs. Your employer was already looking into automation and outsourcing to begin with. At least there will be an immigrant happy to do what you're doing for half the pay and twice the hours. It's fucked up, and Phil's in a really privileged position where he's basically his own boss, so it's amazing that he's willing to risk that and put the screws to the dents because he can't be fucked to be a slightly more conventionally appealing streamer.
- Ban off topic conversation. Pros, it'll make it easy to keep commentary going without getting mentally sidetracked. Cons, you'll never grow a community because you'll only get diehard dents and the occasional normie gawker who'll bail with the quickness once he figures out what it's about.
- I always play on normal. Pros, it'll make it easier to look competent and you'll only have to mash buttons rather than think. Cons, everyone and their mom is doing challenge runs nowadays because singleplayer content is generally better played oneself than watched online. Even if you do want to watch a playthrough for whatever reason, the big three got you covered with max quality, and gameplay that ranges from okay to fairly competent. Usually days before release. Shirrako, MKIceAndFire, GamersLittlePlayground. And of course when it turns out you suck anyway on fucking NORMAL, people, once again, close that window and leave.
- I play what I want to play when I want to play. Pros, more silk and cottons for the pigroach, cons, if people are really looking forward to let's say fightcade and you pull the rug, those people aren't coming back. Doing BG3 a year after release and taking ages to finish it is a moot point when the playthrough has been finished for months.
- Making things about the games rather than the streamer. This one's a little weirder because it's just setting up the "I did nothing wrong" later. It has no pros. Specially if you're gonna play like Phil, months late and slow as fuck. Games tend to get the most attention on release day. Streamers can get attention for themselves. Problem is, if you deliberately make it about the games, much like the big three, you'd have to bring your A game and finish it within three days at the latest. No other reasons to watch a game other than the streamer.
- Anti-cancel strats, Norman Rockwellesque vibes, married with a catson persona. This is just for the ads. Thing is, Phil is at his best when he's going full ragepig. That's entertaining. Him sucking is entertaining. It's funny because he's amazingly kept this facet of his streams. Most streamers who have been at it a while get some skill bleed from the few games they're good at to begin with into the rest of things they tackle, learn more about the games, and rage less in part because they start git'n gud and in part because they start understanding what they could or could not have done to prevent shit. Sometimes you get an explosion in let's say, Fallout 4 survival because they got the car glitch that kills your ass dead for just jumping on a car and they lost 3 hours of progress, but it's not like they're gonna smash their keyboard over a Fortnite loss when they got destroyed by one of the event weapons that kills in two shots and they only had a basic pistol. Phil still gets assmad like the first fucking day and has, in fact, gotten WORSE over time. Why he doesn't exploit this goldmine, I dunno.
- No multiplayer streams. Pros, no more LutherKujos or Brians stealing the show. Cons, what is the fucking point of livestreaming if you don't interact with your audience? Believe me, it's one of the very few things people want. Being in a streamer's squad is fun, specially if his gamer cred is good. Even Wings has open lobbies on occasion. Phil's sticking to a dying streaming business model mostly doing singleplayer shit at his pace and with his personality. Fightcade with the Dents would be a smash hit, but he refuses to do it because he probably knows PoP and some other detractors would get on and whoop his ass at his beloved sooper toorboe, proving that he was always a fraud.
Problem is, my pigga, you're in entertainment. You cater to regular people on their time off. If someone honestly tells you they'd watch Fightcade now and slip you 50 bucks a month for it, think of it as Pricey Pigflix, you better fucking listen and not duck it because you'll be embarassed, if you want the money, that is. You need to provide people with something they enjoy watching. We're not starving for choice. Hell, there's three million companies vying for our available screentime. Even more options if you count the more normie entertainment choices like travelling, going out, films, dancing, all that shit. If you're not providing what people want when people want it, I guarantee you someone out there is.
It's a very competitive business. The hardest part is usually getting your foot in the door. Phil has it, but his adamant refusal to do anything with his maxed out luck is going to be his eventual downfall. Of course, this is a fuckwit that turned down 50K for a podcast, so good luck getting him to swim for his life for 100 bucks. Fucker probably expects to be carried to shore by the beefcake lifeguard. Watch your business evolution. There's a fucking reason even the most popular posters here used to be people with a good mockery and finance speculation game, yet turned over time to snarky recappers and money trackers. And they all hate your fucking guts now, except for maybe Jimi, who doesn't seem like the type to hate anything.

Those are the prerrequisites. Literally anyone could do it. The story isn't new so there's 0 reason to watch a playthrough and the personality you bring to it is non-existent. The ONLY appeal is rage.
Same thing with the rest of his current game selection. "Will Phil manage to hit Master in SF6 but on a NEW platform?" Yes, the game funnels you over there so you can just slowly grind your way. Most people are at Master, in fact. Master is just the fancy name they gave Silver division, essentially. "Will Phil manage to beat Senua's 2?" Yes, it's piss easy one difficulty stuff and he's giving himself infinite retries. It's a matter of time. I'm sure he sucked at it, but I'm sure he beat it.

Look, games nowadays suck. It's to the point where every other game is made in either Unity or Unreal and it's legit hard to even tell one of these apart from all the rest. Specially since 2 out of 5 new games are an Asian Soulslike. There is absolutely no reason to cover the conveyor belt slop of samey AAA tripe when emulation has gotten so good you can literally play PS2 and PS3 games online. The only way forward nowadays is either multiplayer or challenge runs. Anyone can beat games on Normal. Playing on Normal is fine if you just want to enjoy a game for your downtime, but as a streamer with 20 years of experience, playing only the easiest games available only on normal is fucking atrocious.
Streaming's gotta have some struggle and some suspense. Healspamming your way through Yasnooza games on Very Normal is gonna get significantly less views than No Damage Legend runs, for pretty obvious reasons. Multiplayer audiences typically don't expect you to challenge yourself like that, but they'll expect you to interact. I'm sure his luck stat grows exponentially to meet his incompetence growing at about the same rate. It really is a wonder he still keeps a modest audience with how intentionally unwatchable he's made himself over the last few years since Yakuza LAD buckbroke him. But surely he realizes he can't keep this "Chill streaming" shit up for ever and just get mad at the dents for not bankrolling his nontent for months at a time. Something I've noticed over the years of listening to Dave's rants, it's so obvious when he finds some new phrase he thinks is funny or cool and repeats it to no end. For a while i have had thoughts about creating a thread for another lolcow named 6ARAKIN and been on and off going through some of his things and now came across this.

He deserves it because his streams, unlike other streamers, are informal and he stays to actual facts when he talks about things and he is street smart instead of booksmart, meanwhile he makes meaningful content that makes people happy and helps them deal with their depression, which he knows everything about.
