$0.4 is the sweet spot and I've bought many many cases of it cause AR-15s are pure shit and I'll keep the few I got on sale in the safe where they belong and not letting the air cause them to break for sneezing on them.

The logic train I always go down when looking at AKs is
- does it shoot 545? Lmao no chance
- does it shoot 762? Not gonna dwindle my 762 stocks or pay to replace them
- does it shoot 556? What does it do better than an AR15? Nothing

So theres no reason to get an AK.

My ammo situation is fucked personally because I have few guns that share the same ammunition. Run out of 5.56? Guess I’m shooting 30-06 now. Out of 30-06? Time for 7.7 Japanese. Somehow I run out of that? 8mm Mauser then 7.62x54r, 30-30 and so on until my stocks are down to .69 round ball and .58 minie

You're forgetting the most important thing
They're cool
If people only ever buy guns for practicality reasons everything would just be a boring AR-15
Not everything has to be 100% the most practical thing 40c a round is still better than a lot of cartridges
Me personally I love shooting my AK I'll take a 5 round mag with me and primarily use that at the range makes your ammo last longer

7.62x39 and AKs are commie trash not fit for real Americans. AR-15s with their little .22 cartridges are only good for shooting woodchucks and raccoons. Trust me, when I was in 'nam I put an entire mag into a viet cong and he just laughed. .308 guns are for nancy boys who can't handle a REAL rifle like an M1 Garand. When the ChiComs invade after Hitlerly KKKlinton puts the USA under UN control I'll be at my American Legion hall with my Garand ready to put down every gook I see!

I couldn’t afford it if I didn’t reload. My 8mm is the Turkish stuff, but I pulled the bullets and replaced the powder as to not ruin my K98az

Call me autistic but isn’t M2 ball loaded to the same standards as 308? I’d take my M1 out more for stuff like 2 gun if each round fired wasn’t $1 a round.

Also apparently prices are going to be increasing for ammo. Some reloaders are noticing there’s been price increases for primers and the like so expect this to hit downstream soon.

The reloading situation especially on the matter of primers availability or lack thereof have been terrible since Obama first entered the picture. As before Obama only the most autistic of bench shooters and sniper wannabes even bothered with the hassle of reloading primers. During the Obama administration, even the regular reloaders started to reload primers. Thanks to the U.S. Military and all of the Fed agencies buying up most of the ammunition as soon as it's made.

Graf and Sons has had in stock caps for most of last year iirc, granted they only have #11 caps at the moment. Link
Or if you want to go completely crazy you could make your own primers.

I have not, however a buddy of mine has and reported back well. They're also listed on Schutzen's website as an official dealer for their powder, so they are engaged in at least one legitimate business.

Addendum, from searching around I have found one website that purports to be Graf and Sons but I do not believe it is legitimate. So, while Graf and Sons is a legitimate business, make sure you're using the actual website. I am at least 99% sure the one I linked is the real site since it's listed on their social medias and on Schutzen's website.
