Warhammer: 40,000 - Rogue Trader - CRPG by Owlcat games

First DLC is finally announced seems like it's going to be the 40K version of Camellia from WOTR.
Release date is on August 8th.
ah more consequences for taking high danger void routes?

I was kinda used to just sending out the death machine

easily best girl
Qt noble good grill vs a degenerate eho deserves to be executed (and was fucking poor) and a space xenigger who deserves to be handed over to heinrix at the first opportunity for annoying me slightly.

The amusing thing with the Jade event is if you choose to execute her for offending you they all act surprised and scared while for the rest of the game Albelard basically begs you to execute any commoner who shows you disrespect.

you fucking heretic
Yeah well I did my good boi run before and after defeating the 5th demon event they all started looping with no real loot to be gained so I just pressed the win machine button.

Abelard is the best, yeah.

It's free XP, not that you need it really. Did you go all the way in terms of gear and weaponry?

Extremely viable.

Genestealer cultists are an obvious choice for a new group of enemies to add. It's strange that they're not in the game already, TBH. There's one specific place where they really should have shown up.

I commit the sin of double posting to report I've finished the game twice. Once as a dogmatic blaster psyker and another as a heretical melee psyker. I really like the game, save for the weird bugs and the really confusing companion paths. Becoming the equivalent of a living saint and outright being raised to daemon princedom was a nice touch. Plan to play again after a lot of things have been smoothed out.

Don't think I'll ever do an iconoclast/iconocuck run because that involves sparing the eldar in any way. Seriously, fuck those knife-ears. I don't care that a subsect of their people in a death cult revived Guilliman: they murder fucked a chaos god into existence and have the same better-than-though problem Tolkien's elves do. Yrilet betraying you and those uppity faggots on the jungle planet did away with the inkling of iconoclast run thoughts I had. Live by the sword and die by it. Don't cry when you lose or try to act superior in defeat. I find it hilarious how both the zealot and heretical voice despise xenos.

A neutral run could be worth it. The "glorious" and other reflections of you were an interesting touch. I can still commit xenocide in that at least. Plus, I really want to use ranged weapons. Melee and psyker powers are super fun but samey. Ghost Helm is utterly fucking broken but I loved it. Trouble is sanctioned psyker really seems to be the best origin because free scaling buff while the others may as well not exist past the prologue of all things. I don't need to metagame, but I hate that little voice in my head filled with disappointment.
Iconclast with the elves is practical. You have to put up with a lot of shit and skeptisim but if you play your cards right .
The elves will leave humanity alone and eventually just leave the system entirely.

There's one planet that has Genestealers in the tech tree storyline and one mission event where they can show up, but yeah its weird how that's not a thing. Id kinda love it if there was a way to play as a genestealer.

Fuck that.
I'm not going to let anyone living in my territory walk over me, much less a goddamn fucking xenos. A xenos that will always choose its own race regardless and is one emotional event away from murder. So what if many die in the conflict to come? Humanity will recover while the knife-ears rot.

I went mostly full Iconoclast on my playthrough, primarily because Dogmatic reminds me of way too many autistic 40k memes from 4chan. It was pretty nice, actually. Especially when you can literally fight off the influence of a Dark Apostle of the Word Bearers simply by taking the Iconoclast option.

That mission event is what I was referring to, actually. There should have been some Genestealer Cultists/Hybrids involved in that, but there weren't any, which is really odd, IMO since Genestealers and their cults go together like milk and honey.

Also how the fuck would playing as a Genestealer even work? It sounds like something that would need a completely separate campaign.

Think he meant a cultist. You'd have to write around the whole brood/hive mind thing though, which is massive.
but if it gives you an extra set of arms to dual wield weapons with, like Pasqal's manipulators, that could be fun

Heinrix and everyone psionically active telling you to get the fuck out of that ship was a nice touch.

Oh you dont let them walk all over you. If you let them take control of the planet that goes quite poorly.

I dunno. Maybe make it like heretical or something?

Beyond heretical at that point. Tyranids are something else entirely. You do get heretical points by presenting the genestealer book to the Footfall priest as legitimate gospel, but that's just subverting the faith, which is what a heretic would do.

Yeah I see your point. The moment you get turned into a cultist you basically lose your free will and agency anyway. It would be kinda neat if the karma meter gets completely corrupted and everything is just merely a different way to screw things up, but somehow I dont think they will go that far like they did for a chaos playthough.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I finished the game a while back, was pretty fun honestly, best 40k video/computer game I've played in quite a while.
Yup. It's been awhile since I played a 40k game that felt like a full game. Lots of half assed little projects that go unfinished or dime a dozen turn based strats that have a small campaign and lazy skirmish modes.

Into act 2, I feel like I've done some mistakes in character creation so few of my characters are kinda underpowered. Still finished most battles without a hitch besides the mechanicus on the space hulk where I had to dump Argenta (though I heard she is way better if you have better bolters). Replaced Argenta with the Inquisitor ( he is on the chopping block until I get the Astartes, doesn't help the game yelling he is going to betray me) and Pasqal got replaced by Elf sniper who does fuckton of damage.

I like the writing, while there is probably some gay shit, it at least doesn't moralfag you about the setting.

Question, is there a point in exploring the deadly warp routes to the side of the map? When I tried to I got into a random fight which as I understood is the punishment for failing a dice roll, and there is no other cost.

Yeah, happened to me too. The talents that increase your damage by a flat number are useful in early game but utterly useless for the rest. Bounty Hunter is the most worthless class, and Assassins will be useless if you fuck up their talents, otherwise they're basically OHK machines with the right setup. Grand Strategist has one good ability and one good talent. That's not me exaggerating: they'd be completely unviable if they didn't let you act first every time, which an officer with seize the initiative can do.

Operatives are more or less trash, unless you're Pasqal with his broken skitarii talents. Only worth it for a sniper assassin build. You could still do more with a soldier turned arch-militant or psyker warrior turned arch-militant (requires the dual-wielding talent to maximize versatility stacking, but it's really good).

XP, extra locations, some weapons you can't get from the stores, and loot for trading.
