Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

What do you guys think of Harmony & Horror? I just found about it and thought it was a solid series. This new genre of "psychological horror" where it's just nothing going on for 40 minutes and the occasional dark corridor absolutely bores me so I thought it was a breath of fresh air with them jumpscares. Best episodes without a doubt are The Miracle Child and The Perfect Pet from season 2.
I really like the series despite the blatant super loud jumpscares. The good animations/models and unexpected twists and turns in the story gets the viewer going.

Definitely one of my favorites. I found it through Pagan Valley

There used to be a lot of bizarre schizo channels like this one in youtube, my favorite was this guy who built an expensive telescope rig just so he could film deflated balloons going trough the sky (wich he believe to be, of course, alien lifeforms)
The creepiest one I remember was there was this guy who had hundreds of videos about how it was invisible but there was supposedly a giant planet right next to ours and he was giving reasons as to why it was there. It was like a giant moon or planet like saturn or something. I’m not sure why he said it was there, what made him think that aside from the obvious mental illness, but the thought is creepy. He would zoom into the sky and look at clouds as proof.

From summery alone, this sounds far creepier than any “spooky old recovered videos about sooper secret paranormal conspiracy with child abuse and hyperealistic gore omg VHS artifacts so scary!!!” ARG series on YouTube.

It really was. I can’t find the guy anymore though. I think maybe he thought that a hologram was covering the planet and that’s why we can’t see it? It’s been a long time and I remember it was covered in a video series like the eudoxia ones or scaretheater, I wish I could find that again. It was on x too.

In that case... Just horror, then? Late Night with the Devil and Martyrs (2008 ) are movies I'm planning to watch somewhere in the future.

How about Valle Verde? It manages to capture the PS1 game aesthetic very well.
Valle Verde looks interesting but the textures aren't wobbly enough to feel PS1. This feels more N64

Spook stands guilty of general Chuddery in the first degree, to include four counts of ableism, six counts of yikesery, and 41 counts of queerphobia-adjacent thoughts.

You are talking of a criminal in the horror community. Need I remind you of FUCKTOY CORY?

Need I remind the court of Cory Beck's implied rape?

SEE HOW HE IS BEWITCHED!

oh yes, the Nibiru people, some are still doing it in Facebook to this very day

I’m not even sure if that’s the same thing.

This guy basically thought that the planet had been there for decades or centuries and was just sat between us and the moon. Like if you looked up you’d see a planet so close it obscured the sky. I can’t even find the x posts about it anymore. Nibiru seems to be about a planet that is coming towards earth on a collision course but this was more like a planet that was hovering over us but had a cloaking device to hide it.

It reminds me a bit of people who say that we are surrounded by 4 dimensional(?) beings we can’t see and that can’t see us. I think the implication the guy was making was that the planet was hostile and monitoring us.

Cross posting from the Creepshow thread. Someone on lolcow pointed this out and I think it's worth sharing.

Dreading, under the assumption the channel isn't run by Shannon and Anthony, is still a content farm and does not cover incredibly heavy subjects with the care they deserve. If the first screenshot is to be believed, they dangled the Chris Watts series above their viewers heads for 3 weeks and didn't even post them when they said they'd be posted. A true crime channel using brutal murders as an incentive to get people to buy their patreon? I know, what a shocker.

And Dreading is apparently doing the same with the series for Kori Richins. They said they'd post links in the description to the other parts of their coverage, but the description is bare. Minus the link to their patreon.

Many commenters have caught on to this as someone on lolcow pointed out. Viewers have been very vocal about the dip in quality and the lack of transparency when they pay for content by these guys. Dreading, regardless of who is behind the channel, is lazily content farming murder cases. Dreading is claiming to be harassed right as this speculation starts gaining some traction on KF and lolcow.

The tagline for their Spotify account is "Responsibly made true crime". What a joke.

I think the guy is good at modeling, but he's bad at conveying the story? I think his character designs are weak, and rely too much on them being so cartoony and garish, especially his FNAF redesigns. I also think he relies on jumpscares and shitty audio too much.

Analog horror really is scraping the bottom of the barrel

Please someone make an Analog Horror about that schizophrenic dude who thought a massive planet was hovering over us. I'd make a whole story out of it if I could.

That's a premise that feels a lot better than any of these bare minimum excuses of Analog Horror. There's not enough stories in general about planetary stuff putting earth at risk of destruction. Let alone one about a conspiracy that ends up being hidden in plain sight from everyone except the one schizophrenic dude who was keeping a close eye of the planet this whole time. Not even a planet filled with secret aliens that are gonna kill us all. Just a regular planet that just has some weird interplanetary capabilities that allowed it to be hidden from us.

But then again, if any average Analog Horror youtuber worked on this, they'd make it as stereotypical as possible with all the tropes of the EAS warning systems, the text to speech messages, the badly convincing VHS (they forgot what era they were in), the unnecessary jumpcares, the badly convincing government message, lots of static, over the top voice acting, and LET'S NOT FORGET THE BATHROOM TYPOGRAPHY MALE SIGN!

The Boiled one Phenomenon and The Man on The Suit are genuinely the shittiest analog horror things I've ever seen in the recent years. It baffles me to see people treating them like they're revolutionary. I know what mostly sells them is the age of the creators but Kane Pixels was 16 years old when he made The Backrooms, so there's really no excuse to be this lazy.
