Combo of HRT, some other kind of drug, and the constant stress from having to play purity spiral and putting on a blatantly fake persona IMO. Chris especially compared to others on that last part given he was not ignorant of troons and otherkin shit and made jokes about the shit they say online in the pre-troon era statements. This is a "power play/ladder up" situation. Once "famous enough" some people just metamorphize into skinwalkers that will take the tactics and mannerisms of the people they used to make fun of for the sake of clout. Ones that try and gain "allies" via empty virtuesignals to keep critics out and downed.

One of the more prominent non-troon versions of this kind of brain breakage is Idubbz when he started trying to frame sam hyde as an unironic neo nazi despite them both being popular for similar types of internet guy humor due to jokes about his GF's onlyfans. People that end up behaving like this all seem to rapid age worse than people that get the premature aging from intense stress and negative emotions at work or at lack thereof a work due to the "no job=no experience=no job" hell loop. I think it's because of the added bit of the KNOWING what they're doing and trying to bury it with even more rhetoric everyone who isn't a true believer and actually does a minimal amount of research realizes they don't actually believe in.

I don't even think this is actual "Narcissism" but an echo of the idea of narcissism, performed from people who have observed narcissists their whole life. It's similar to how people imitate having tourettes online minus the claiming to have the condition thing. Think about it, we over a decade's worth of behavioral references for those kind of assholes online, and a guy that's made jokes about those sort of people in a way you can tell he knows how they operate. To use another infamous case as an example, do you really think a GENUINE narcissist is going to name themselves some shit like "Narcissa" ? No! You look at that case, it was very fucking clearly the guy trying to emulate some idealized new "mean girl" personality and cover up the depression over their life falling the fuck apart. To write this off as "narcissism" is to ignore the other side of the chessboard here.

One of my brother's highschool friends was this tall skinny guy with long stringy black hair (they were both into heavy metal). He trooned out 4 years ago in college, but I saw him recently and he's gained about 200lbs and shrunk a half foot since then. He had shaved his head nearly bald, dyed his hair pink, was using xi/xir pronouns, and had gooner eyes. He looked like he had rapidly aged into his late thirties while still younger than 25.
