There is hope, think of everyone raised in fundie christian households who became euphoric atheists. Sometimes kids raised like this flip to the other end of the spectrum.

The thing is, no matter how backwards their educations might be due to the religious influence on their homeschooling curriculum, those kids are still left with enough education to pass the GED test.

The PFS doesn't even help their students with that.
After years of being feral they expect these kids to somehow buckle down and get the GED all on their own.


Hell, I've seen Amish kids who left school in 8th grade get jobs because they are willing to work their asses off.

Truth. I bet that Tori will be dead set on being normie as fucking possible once puberty arrives.

How would Tori even gauge normal? The only other kids she gets with are ragamuffins from the PhreeSkool and the only people their parents hang with are oddballs and lazy asses like themselves. No one else wants to be around that family. So where would Tori learn "normal" from? She's never in an environment that teaches her how people are supposed to behave.

Now I haven't been a mom for that long, but long enough to know that if my baby is sobbing and begging for me, maybe I should get off the fucking computer. And I would also wash dishes so I can cook and not eat out constantly while in foreclosure and bankruptcy. Exactly. And not just that, but trust me--that stuff can be so fun and bonding, and lead to lasting friendships. But Cecily is so intolerant of 'normies'--because they reflect her inadequacy and trashiness just by existing--that she has to pretend/tell herself that she's above all that, and above them. She avoids anything that might be uncomfortable in general (like dieting, exercising, getting a job, waking up before noon to take her kid to roller derby, etc.). Combine the two and you get Cecily and Charlie surrounded by trash like themselves, reinforcing their idea that it's not just OK but noble to live as obnoxious, uneducated trashboxes. And because Tori is functionally illiterate, she can't even read about better ways of life in books.

Cecily and Charlie fear failure, but everything they do simply entrenches them more deeply in a life devoid of success on even an emotional level, let alone in terms of having fulfilling work or energizing connections with other people. They flop on their fucking recliners all day and take pictures of their filthy, crusty feet for social media headpats and call it living. It's pathetic, but perfectly within their rights to exist in such a deplorable manner. What is inexcusable is indoctrinating Tori with the same twisted beliefs and attitudes about work and how to live a good life. If they both keeled over tomorrow, she'd have a better chance of escaping the mental and educational prison they've built for her.

Shit, beyond making sure your kid gets to school and either has lunch or gets a free federal lunch, parents don't need to do ANYTHING at a school. It's free federal day care where they also learn some stuff.

Cecily reminds me a lot of Hillary Clinton. Being a member of the "Liberal Elite", I'm sure Cecily would be pleased to be compared to Clinton, but I'm reminded of all Hillary's negative traits. Both women have bloated egos, both have an enormously inflated unwarranted sense of self-importance, both are narcissistic, both view themselves as special people with whom the rules do not apply, both are unable to admit fault and take accountability for their failures and transgressions, shifting the blame to other people or situations, both have taken advantage of unknowing people for financial gain, both have a general air of shadiness and corruption, both willfully ignore all criticism aimed in their direction, and both are generally ignorant of widespread and increasing negative opinion most people have of them. There are other parallels and comparisons to be made, but I feel these are the big ones.

Wait, Blogsnark was getting uppity about KF? I have seen comments there doxing people multiple times. Most recently, photos of Cecily's home were posted on the Blogsnark subreddit. (Cecily routinely doxes herself with check-ins and public social media posts about the AME church across the street from her house and other details, including the route Tori walks to "school" all alone, when she goes.) They're not there anymore, but you can see that the gentrified paradise Cecily describes is not quite reality--and the "park" she says Tori loves to play in next to her house is actually a vacant lot full of garbage. What a treat for her little girl.
