Elden Ring

Anyone want to share vague cliffnotes? I want to go in as blind as possible so definitely not going to watch anything and listening I'd rather have a bit of a prefilter before I hear any of the shills talk about it.
Kung Fu weapon and claws that make you fight like the beast men, reverse grip swords, light ultra great swords, new gravity spells, and more. New spirit ashes as well, the witch hands are confirmed.

The area operates on the Sekiro/ Ancient Dragon from Dark Souls 2 where you collect items to do more damage and receive less.

Some of the weapons/attacks look a bit too anime.
The DLC is gonna be good. not great, not mid, just good.
"Aspect of the crucible: wings" looks like it's attack patterns are gonna be depending on the weapon you're currently holding or maybe it'll be an ash of war which can be applied to multiple weapons.

Thanks for the deets. Any expected runtime for the whole DLC? And boss count?

Supposedly like 60-100 hours. Two legacy dungeons in the starting area. One is the Lion Dancer and the other is Renalla’s sister who wants Mesmers cock. From what it sounds like they basically made the sequel ideas and cut content an expansion.

One of the field bosses is the giant wicker man.

60 to 100 sounds like pr talk, but who the hell knows, I do tend to take my time in these sorts of games and go beyond the average, but I'd be surprised if most players went beyond 40. Still, sounds chunky and if it actually delivers, would be great value. You mention starting area so it's safe to asume there is "more areas" than the starting area right? We aren't just getting a limgrave, we get a Limgrave and other areas?

Supposedly the verticality is different, but it’s like a third of the size of the vanilla map. You have two ways of progressing from what early reviewers have stated. You can either go for the Lion Dancer or the other boss. There may be more.

Supposedly a variant of Ulcerated Tree Spirits come back as a field boss with the new status effect on them is what Iron Pineapple said.

Oh! There is a dragon form in the DLC like in Dark Souls that’s making a comeback per Vaati.

I was sick yesterday so I watched all reviewer releases. Elden Ring is basically Dark Souls 2 - 2 with the B team learning their lessons from how fucked up 2 was so I am assuming that the DLC is going to be a lot neat ideas that even if half baked are fun. The Dark Souls 2 DLC’s added most of the spell variants that weren’t just bigger projectile.

At least it gave some defense rather than stripping you naked. Though the roar being able to block projectiles and boost to unarmed attacks (only in DS1 lol) make up for it. 3's is just a disappointment, unless you glitch it.
I didn't use DS1 dragon form for much besides oneshotting scrubs with unlocked roar into hornet bkga backstab.

Hopefully we get a lot more respec options cause I'm really gonna want to try out all the new weapons.

And/or modders add variations of the new weapons types to early game mode to try them out/level up with them.

I created a new character for the DLC but since it's about to be peak hiking season I honestly don't know how much I'll play it, other than after work.

It doesn't matter, man.

They got the shittiest boss in the base game, a boss that was already copied and pasted dozens of times, and decided to put it again in the DLC. This is a fucking retarded decision and I'm already smelling the putrid smell from this DLC.

When I first played Elden Ring, I didn't use a lot of things.
Bows and arrows? lol, no
Throwing pots? lmao, nop
Consumables and buffs from ashes of war? ain't nobody got time for that
Perfume bottles? nigga, game is almost over, fuck that shit
I barely even crafted anything.
Just Wondrous Physick, some spirit ashes and my weapon of choice.

So, this time around, I wanna spice things up. I'll use the most useless and goofy shit imaginable. I'll throw jars of literal shit at people.
So, I'm open to suggestion on builds. It doesn't have to be very specific or anything, keep it simple and most importantly, keep it thematic.
Uplifting Aromatic for your perfume, only use this for boss fights because Arteria Leaf does not respawn and has to be farmed from the Yetis in MOTG if you run out. Boiled Crab can be stacked to 99 and is cheap AF by the time you can obtain it, no reason not to chow down before a fight. This and this for your physik. I could get really autistic with Talisman/AOW/Weapon Combos but that's enough to make you unkillable.
