If Trump is the only one Biden can beat, why did all the other Republican candidates get utterly blown out by Trump in the primaries?
Because Trump has a dedicated base that will vote for him in primaries no matter what. That doesn’t translate into general. And even in primaries he barely got around 50% of vote. Doesn’t bode well. They announced prosecution to cement that base. You people claim these guys are secretly controlling the world and able to distort public will any time but at the same time are unable to predict effect on electorate of certain actions. All at the same time.

The Republican field was really, really bad. DeManlet, Vivek, Haley were all trash candidates. Haley was the only one who would've had a chance at winning the actual election (besides Trump)
Honestly it's the problem with a two party system in general, they can get away with giving us nothing but absolute garbage and then claim "but X is WORSE!" and people buy it. It's not just limited to the GOP or Trump cultists, the DNC is just as guilty of this, but for some reason we still think we're choosing the lesser of two evils.
Republicans shot themselves in the foot by running off any potential candidate that could reasonable replace Trump if he got too squirrelly. Now all they have is a convicted felon.
Y'all need preferential voting so people can vote for a third party without feeling like they're throwing their vote away.

Incredibly, Americans would still find a way to throw their vote away. They'd write in Taylor Swift or a sitcom character or else they just wouldn't show up.
I get there are deranged individuals out there, but this isn’t 2016 anymore, Trump winning would not trigger some magnitude of lolz. There’d be some but it would not be as gigantic for one simple reason.
Republicans have done nothing but lose every election since 2016 (Trump even underperformed in that election among fellow republicans), you'd need the pattern recognition of a fucking squirrel to think it'll be different this time.
You can do a write-in vote for whoever you want. Every election has some dongs who will write in “Fred Flintstone” or something like that.
