To be fair, my desk is a mess too. There's tools everywhere and stacked boxes of components. I sort them once a month and it takes maybe 2 days to get into disarray again. However, messy doesn't mean unclean. You won't see empty bottles, takeaway bags, crud and other assorted shit on the carpets of the living spaces of most adults.
