Windows Recall AI snapshots stored in an unencrypted SQL file in appdata. Apparently. Already there is scripts to install it on unsupported devices.

Noita runs on Windows only.

Categorically false.

Gabe Newell has done more to make Linux viable for normies than any man alive or dead. Proton works flawlesly 99% of the time, and the 1% where it doesn't it's on games likely to not even run on modern Windows.

Why would you be on windows 11?
I did a clean windows install recently and I bought a windows 10 pro key for like 1 dollah (Win 11 keys go for almost the same on shady CD key sites).

I've heard that setting up firewall rules in windows 11 is nigh impossible when it comes to blocking certain programs, this is important if you pirate Adobe shit for example because the Adobe updater/license checker is really intrusive basically a virus that can reconstitute itself if you allow it to go online.

Now we have 1st party built in AI spyware and on top of that the menus on windows 11 are weird, it doesn't feel intuitive, It's shit.
If you are on 11 just get an after market windows 10 key and downgrade or swap to linux.
I sort of have to use 11 if I use windows. I bought a 13th gen intel (mistake) and only windows 11's new task scheduler properly supports the e-cores.
Instead I just switched to full time Linux and haven't missed anything in the slightest. Every game outside of zoomer competitive shit works out of the box, even photoshop and premiere work with some jankery, and you can set up a hardware passthrough VM for any other needs. It's never been a better time for Kiwis to swap if you're willing to trade getting away from microsoft's cuckery for a slight learning curve.

Because the question used to be, why would you be on Windows 10 instead of on Windows 7? Microsoft always keep pushing the envelope, and Windows users get accustomed it and eventually feel like they have to transition.

Wait until Win 12.

You know the drill by now, Microsoft have been doing this for years. Upgrade every 2nd OS they release.

98 or 2000- good
Me- bad
XP- good
Vista- bad
7 - good
8- bad
10- good
11- bad
Stay on 10 LTSC and force Microshit to undo the planned EOL, they reopened the beta channel for 10 recently so its probably going to get support past 2025 as 11 is actually losing market share

Don't even use Tiny11 based on principle alone, I managed to get Tiny11 to work just like Windows 10 LTSC with no bloat at all but the UI is still shit

It logs everything you use in the command prompt. Imagine you use your root password and this thing stores it in PLAINTEXT

I was joking as this is obviously shit (lol at anyone who sets up a Bitcoin wallet with the seed words displayed on screen with this enabled or even just... opens an entry in a password manager and unhides the password they have entered), but unless you're doing insane things the way you run a program as another user at the Windows command line is with 'runas' and that doesn't display passwords as you type them.

I'll have to figure out how modding games works with Linux myself. My modlist for Morrowind is probably bigger than the bible at this stage.
I've pussied out and dual boot Linux and Windows. But, on my dual boot machine, I don't connect Windows to the internet, I only browse/download/do internet shit on Linux. On the windows side I have my modded games, 99% of any game on Steam works with Linux, Praise be to Gaben. I don't know if splitting that helps defend against Kikerosoft but it makes me feel like it does.

If you can't uninstall it, how long until spyware finds a way to quietly re-enable it, scrape your data, and then send it out to criminals?
Or Microsoft quietly re-enable it to see if you've been browsing the farms and hatting on trannies and jews, and sends that to your employer/the authorities.

I'll bet if you audited all banking and security data 70% of it or more is just sitting out there in plain txt somewhere.
I briefly worked at a processing center which helped Iran bypass sanctions. An employee would be anally raped for days if s/he clicked on a suspicious email (the email itself, not any link in it). And yes they'd send out fake suspicious emails to find someone to rape.

I also worked at a bank where every just-hired GED retard could access the main transaction database with the same officewide (read-only, or I'd have retired there and then) credentials.

Some Japanese games get polished up for Windows but are fucky on Proton (interface dies, videos don't play, etc).

!Which reminds me! Some Steam games have a buggy/unplayable Linux version, is there a way to run the Windows version with Proton instead?

I wouldn't be willing to bet against you on that one. Even just learning entry level shit about data security, you quickly begin to realize just how unsecure everything really is and how little even a lot of big companies take it as seriously as they should. If you have a will and know-how, you will almost always find a way.

Plus at lot of this shit in general is also highly susceptible to social engineering, but that's a separate issue entirely.

Uhm.... GNU/Linux doesn't have this issue sisters... :tomgirl:
I hate to burst your bubble but no you can actually open files in Linux too and the super user can read any file because that's basically the whole fucking point of a computer. It's more that wintards are so gullible they think that announcing if someone hacks into your computer they can read a file counts as some kind of expose. Just imagine the panic if one of them figures out said hacker can also access the things that are being screen grabbed.
Sure it's nice of M$ to expedite the process but security through the passage of time is really only a thing in bank vault design.

If you MUST play videoslops and don't wanna change OS then Gabe's little proton thing on steam can run stuff that's even technically "not" a steam title and it's basically a glorified windows emulator. And every time MS shits their pants and their team of elite SARS make a mistake like this, Newell probably dumps another milly R&D bucks into it to up the compatibility even more.
