The game was shit regardless. the mechanics were really poorly thought and even the graphics settings (as in, options settings) have regressed. It's not just the story that is a joke. Knowing that SBI had an influence in this game is only the icing on this turd cake.
Incidentally, mandaloregaming made a video talking exactly about this game. he had issues with other parts of the games, namely the campaign feeling like an afterthought and the game being a complete disaster.
Youtuber man said game bad, so I'm saying game bad too.

It was pretty wild hearing his "oh god, what am I watching" laugh three times in one video. He usually saves that for the really out-there stuff like that 2013 Cabela's Big Hunt game or Limbo of the Lost.

Even without the Sweet Baby affiliation, EA did not market this game well. They have a habit of doing that with their EA Partners and EA Originals sublabels.

Soo time for some facts: Max Payne remake still alive, for face right now used model of sam lake from alan 2, until 2021 saga anderson(and consulting with sbi) was white, Remedy pretty ok with sales of alan wake 2, they awaiting are long tail of sales. Until 2020 in office almost everyone was white, he's joked about moment where the only black person there was the cafeteria cook. Since that remedy actively started hire retards with pink hair.
When they were working on Alan Wake 2, they had a bearded trans narrative designer in their department who threw in history and even lore propaganda for trans people in notes, it was all in the game a month before release and when the management noticed this, they burned quite a lot of paperwork from the game or rewritten because there was a terrible mess. Kabrutus seems like an okay dude but this video was a bit cringe. Interviewing self identified gamers or even westaboo gamers would be more useful than just interviewing random people on the street who will give safe/uninteresting/lukewarm opinions. What's more cringe are the leftists in the comments section using this video as some sort of proof that "wokism isn't real" or if woke is real then "woke beat the fat chud" and proclaiming victory instead of accepting the video for what it is: inconsequential.

It's also a blatant misunderstanding of their culture. These people do not rock the boat. They do not publicly state their most blatant opinions, it's always tactful responses and polite by our standards. For somebody that wanted to visit Japan so badly I figured he would have known that.
