My apologies for being unclear. It's myopic to only care about things if and when they affect you directly. Using trannies as an example: despite the rightwing's loud and constant warnings on the insidious nature of the LGBTQIAP+, you didn't care about the trans menace because you thought it didn't affect you. However, even if it didn't affect directly you at that particular moment, you should've at least tried to consider how it might affect you in the future. It was myopic not to do so.
