A 23-year-old woman who was mauled to death by a dog in southwest Ireland appears to have been the owner of an XL bully.

The woman, who was named locally as Nicole Morey, was killed on Tuesday evening at a house in Ballyneety, County Limerick, at around 11.40pm.

Her body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem. Irish broadcaster RTE said the dog involved in the attack was understood to be an XL bully.

According to her social media, Ms Morey was the loving owner of what appears to be an XL bully.

In one video on TikTok, she is seen dancing with a dog in a kitchen.

The video is covered by a male voice saying: "This is my son and I don't give a f*** if you think he looks aggressive and I don't give a f***if you don't like the look of him and I surely don't give a f*** whether you think the breed should be banned."

Another chilling video appearing to show her as the owner of several dogs is captioned: "But if one of us dies - I hope I die first." The video ends with a caption reading: "Love my family."

In another post, she describes herself as a "dogmom" and is seen handing treats to two dogs.

Ms Morey was treated by paramedics but died at the scene on Tuesday, Garda (Irish police) said. One dog was put down while three others were seized.

There are several restricted breeds in Ireland, including German shepherds, rottweilers and various bull terriers, as well as some crosses.

Restricted dogs must be kept collared with their owner's information on a tag, muzzled in public and on a short, strong lead with someone over the age of 16 who is able to control them.

To be fair to the dog being exposed directly to TikTok cringe will make you go mad. Don't think this one is on the breed.
There's also the infamous case of a lot of "influencers" and attention whores buying dogs like this and literally not training/raising them properly because they see it as more a status thing than an actual creature you need to make sure you know what it wants and that it knows what it should not do.

From the second vid it looked like she had several large outdoorsy dogs in a tiny ass room with strobing lights, dogs constantly looking kind of nervous in the photos and vids too which is a huge ass red flag.

I'm sad she died... she'll never learn how stupid she was. Well I suppose the idea might have come up while her dog was eating her face off.

Pitbulls just have a "kill-mode" switch in their heads. Not sure training the dog is enough to change that, sometimes the switch flips and they go feral. Training the owner sure, don't keep the dog in the house, ensure it can't escape your yard, ensure it gets regular exercise and play, keep it on a lease in pubic (even muzzle it in public), and never get too comfortable around it.
But the reality is these breeds were never meant to be pets, humans spent centuries breeding them to be big, strong and aggressive so they can hunt, kill and fight, and a few decades of keeping them as pets (not even trying to breed the aggression out of them) won't change that.

You are fucking retarded if you just chalk this up to the pitbull aggression factor alone. Every shot of this dog it's in some cramped space looking mildly tweaked out of it's mind. Dog got no space, man.

I suppose I simply don't see nurture as being able to overcome nature 🤷‍♂️
Maybe that's just my nurture. Personal experience having been raised where I was has inclined me to the belief that even humans can't overcome their nature only ever direct it into a less harmful direction so even less so a dog breed known to go feral at random.

This aint even a nature vs. nurture thing dumbass, even human beings go crazy when in situations like that fucking pitbull was in in those vids. You take an animal prone to impulsive aggression and you put it in a series of cramped spaces to film and photo it for tiktok clout constantly that's a god damn recipe for disaster. I don't get how some people are so blinded by the fucking stupid war over pitbull shit to notice the obvious extra factors that made this case worse.

That many of these dogs (or any dogs really) in one spot is just asking for trouble. All that needs to happen is for a fight to break out between two of the dogs, she comes in to break it up and one of the dogs turns on her instead. With other breeds you can get them to snap out of it but with a dog that was bred to fight and kill you cannot rely on those insticts not to take over and go too far. And once they start they finish the job like they were bred to do.
