Ten minutes of gameplay footage. You've got Green Hill from the main campaign and what looks like Final Chase from Shadow's, with a bit of Radical Highway thrown in at the end. According to Twitter, the level also mixes in parts of The Ark (the level from Shadow's game) and Crazy Gadget.

I've been speaking with someone who apparently works behind the scenes and they've offered up some tidbits. This could all be complete bollocks though, so take it with a mountain of salt.

- Five levels (not all of them have transistions)
- Two acts per level
- Three bosses
- Bonus missions like the main game to unlock the bosses
- Chao rescue missions (this was already known)

Threading the licks from Live and Learn into Supporting Me sounds so good

That biolizard boss was pretty good

My dad works at Sega and he gave me an early copy

Ok, i lied. It is my wife's brother who works for Sega.

It's the 3DS generations Biolizard fight but now in HD Ultra graphixs
No it's not, the 3DS bossfight is more or less the same fight from SA2 but nerfed, this one adds a second phase with the mutated appendages
(Also, why does Sonic even go to Radical Highway and fight the Biolizard in that game? I'm not gonna go full autistic and wish for Dimps to have started picking levels from a bunch of obscure Game Gear titles but I would've much rather played through a level from one of Advance games)

According to GameXplain, Classic Sonic now has the drop dash and so does Modern Sonic for some bizarre reason. Also, the Chao are now connected to a new gameplay mechanic where you collect 3 Chao emblems in each stage and you rescue a Chao.

Japan is also getting a way cooler deluxe edition, mainly because it's an actual deluxe edition and not just the same game with some lame downloadables. You get a copy of the game, a keychain with Sonic and Shadow's shoes, a physical art book, and a minifigure of Shadow.

I tried a model swap of Shadow and Sonic on Generations 3DS many years ago. It only got as far as renaming the models and applying it as a patch to the base game, given my limited technical ability. The game crashed any time there you hit a bounce pad, my guess is incompatible animations since the file for Shadow's animations was just the bare minimum for the boss fight.

>such as conversations with characters
So one line of dialogue then? Unless it's a scripted event that's part of the main campagne.

When you have to advertise "you can talk to characters" as a selling point, that's not a good thing.
Have you played Frontiers? There's a similar thing in that where characters are dotted around the map and you have a bit of a back and forth.

So why not just give Frontiers the Shadow side-game update instead of shoe-horning all of that in Generations, a game that had NONE of that?

This just looks like Sega once again taking a page out of Nintendo's book, as in "Let's do all of this because Bowser's Fury"

Thematically it fits better with Generations than it does Frontiers, even if it's using a gameplay style from the latter. Sonic Team's main division is most likely already at work on the next major game since this was done by former Generations staff.

They have to find some excuse for charging consumers 50 dollars this time around for the same game they paid 30 for 13 years ago.
