Something really fucked up just happened on Trish's stream

Jon replied as expected

Jon has fallen off but I think this raises a good point that Letty is being retarded. She's trying too hard to seek validation from internet weirdos by being "quirky" in this over the top way. It's like she's trying to emulate Sam Hyde without understanding what makes his shit funny some of the time in specific circumstances.

Jon isn't raising any point at all he's being a retard and taking an obvious joke literally because he has autism. He never got over his hatred of Letty from the show (something that was manufactured by the crew for drama) and is still seething over it an entire year later. The guy is pathetic.

There's been an edit of Greg with an mspaint penis in his mouth going around and Trish ended up painting it, she doesn't like him, does she?

Letty was the best contestant between both seasons. Who cares that she makes random quirky Tweets? It’s more retarded to get triggered by random throw away Twitter posts. There’s essentially nothing to analyze in them. Seeing Jon’s continued detachment from reality and ending up with a “Letty is the retarded one.” take is a self report.

after thinking about this for a bit. the best moments in S1 were "the cell" (the original, not the cringe one they tried to halfass later) , that day where they tried to bring a hooker to get fatty laid and a bunch of e-celebs visited (lots of funny moments, very eventfull day), the entire letty and frank arc and the "you are a bunch of niggers" fake ending.

the best moments of S2 were the first 5 days (probally the strongest and most consistent streak so far, pure kino from start to finish), fatty santa "bombing" the fish on christmas eve (very short, but was kino while it lasted) , the night where frank arrived and they did the drunk bunk making challenge (some of the funniest moments in the show overall) and the whole babysitting challenge night.

Overall S1 had the best and most memorable contestants and was fairly consistent in terms of quality, but it was also quite boring and dull.
meanwhile S2 had the highest highs and some of the craziest moments ever but was a very inconsistent experience and it was very obvious when they ran out of ideas and had no idea what the fuck to do, and it got really dark and grim at some stretches wich isn't what i expect from a show like this, the whole idea to force relationships and psychological shit was bizarre and i have no idea why they thought that was a good idea, S1 had none of that shit.

Also one aspect that is in my opinion very underrated is how fucking good the living room in S2 was, as iconic as the kitchen was in S1 , the decoration and camera placement in the living room in season 2 was unbelievable, whoever did that deserves a prize.

I've never understood people who complain about the s2 cast because those first 5 days being the strongest across both seasons disproves them being bad entirely, without requiring any retarded production interference or freeloaders.

true but it only worked when the cast was full on its entirety, once production began having some "fun" , it all crumbled and turned into shit. and the only fish who were memorable by themselves were summer and jimmy and they weren't even half as cool as letty and jon were

Part of that I think you can put down to the fish knowing that there was some buy-in already on the show. A lot of the hesitancy in the first few days of S1 was because the fish couldn't tell anyone gave a shit or not, up until they got swatted and got a small peek at how things were going. Vance wasn't doing his baseball bat swinging thing until they got swatted likely because he finally because cognizant of the audience and how Jon was viewed.

Still, that's neither here nor there. They were doing really well in S2 in the first week or so and entertaining without producer meddling, right up until CK came. I'd blame the Gator Squats in particular for shocking everyone and the forced relationship stuff with CK and Trish that got unbearable on day 7 through 10.

The fish in S1 in the second half were just better conversationalists, Letty in particular obviously but she'd spin Vance up into a conversation pretty easily. In S2, that was a non-starter, between Um Uh Uhm Uhh UHm, Shinji the ESL guy, and Trish who just napped most of the day.

What I liked about S1 is that I could have it up all day and there was usually something to tune into. The downtime was usually an enjoyable part of it. S2 lacked that for me, often I felt like it was an exercise of waiting for Sam to show up.
thats what i mean by S1 being consistent, it always felt like at least one of the fish was doing something funny when they were wake, while season 2 only had that element early on, all the interesting fish left early.

The final stretch of S2 before it got to the finale was 0/10. For me I can’t get past how awful that period was. I don’t regret watching the season. But 10ish days was some of the worst material of anything I’ve ever seen.

the final stretch was genuinely unbelievably bad, and the fact all the final fish were boring definitely was the reason for that.

The first five days were absolute peak FishTank no question there, but it was too good. Production basically made a deal with the devil. Consistently pushing the Fish past their limits works great in the short term i.e the first five days, but they had so little downtime that they eventually burned out causing the many premature eliminations we know of.

Production needs to find out where this line is and when to back off to prevent such things from happening. There’s nothing wrong with testing the limits of the Fish, but they need some downtime to calm down. A basic schedule would probably fix this issue, but there hasn’t been one in either season.

It is interesting to consider that production meddling was like a cancer on the entirety of S2. Maybe meddling is too weak of a term for it. The real issue is forcing developments and not building on conflicts or situations that arise naturally.

I wonder if production shot themselves in the foot regarding how to handle everyone being a fan, because once the truth got out things degraded horribly and I don't think it is coincidental. I've made this point before but it is relevant to all this. I think they had a choice between keeping all the fish in the dark regarding the fan status of everyone, and having them cooperate on a bit towards the audience.
The first choice is more stressful for fish but also a positive catalyst for content, in a very short-sighted way however. I think you can easily attribute Summers collapse on a lot of the stress from this, even if it was good content. Making the fish collaborate on a bit towards the audience could have lasted longer and caused less stress and may have worked better long-term. If you keep it going you have something of a reveal for the final day as well.
Making everyone feel special was probably positive for their egos but once the secret's out you are back to nothing anyway.
A lot of the fish were doing "subtle" "hey I'm a fan" signaling during the first week. If they were knowingly part of a gag on the audience that would have been tempered too.
