Larry said that he didn't even know who Patrick was until later, just that some drunk belligerent dickhead was getting up in his face and the only reason he didn't snap him in half was he didn't want to cause any trouble. Larry's also mocked him on Twitter, which never fails to get an angry response from Patty.

Herbert is probably way to verbose with too many long words and complex ideas for Pat, and I doubt he's read Simmons any more than he's read and understood Baxter.
