I think it could be as simple as clamping down on a-logging itself. We used to enforce this by simply bullying them off-site but they just got more autistic and persistent.

Here's an interesting idea: if the men decided to stop being pieces of shit and actually took half the advice in the MHT, maybe the women wouldn't hate you?

I don't think attention whores fit in very well to a community dedicated to crucifying attention whores, but AFAIK there's nothing stopping Rachel from coming back and collecting asspats. She must just not want to.

None of these guys cared one bit about BP Off-Topic when it was pet sperging, granny cures, makeup, and gardening advice. They're mad because the women are saying things that upset them and Null + mods aren't making the problem go away by banning the MHT and any similar discussions. And this puts such a bug in their ear they're going to pretend that allowing the women a bitchin' circle is akin to the Fall of Rome or whatever.

It's funny you have a group of women that show up any any thread and are obviously coordinating shitting up threads outside of BP ( you annoy one and 3-4 others show up very quickly)... but that's fine you know, it's pointing out that this shit is enabled that's the problem.

Much less how they treat women that don't agree with them... see otterly and others.

But yeah, yeah they are fine....sure we can continue down the Something Awful path... we are about to the Catlady arch now.

I rarely use BP apart for certain lolcows like Aella, but seeing that /cow/ had similar threads for female lolcows, deathfats and other such trainwrecks, the Lolcow Salon is wholly within the spirit of this site's purpose; to laugh at the willfully stupid decisions of the Internet's village idiots. The trouble is when diametrically opposed political camps start spilling over into mutual discussion spaces and subsequently create friction. The Autistic Thunderdome will forever be seen by the broader userbase as a necessary evil even among its regulars, so I can't expect too much sympathy there. That being said, both sides should realize they're going to have irreconcilable differences from their respective priors and lived experiences being too fundamentally unaligned.

Pardon me for asking, but for our information, are the regulars in both the Lolcow Salon and Animal Control True and Honest Fans in aggregate? Do they contribute more to the site monetarily, quality thread wise or a bit of both?

The Lolcow Salon is ruining site culture no more than the Thunderdome is. Both are subsections of the site that have a large chunk of users that rarely post outside of it, and have a few obnoxious problem users who occasionally go out to shit up unrelated threads with verbal menstruation or unwarranted politisperging respectively. The only difference is that oldfags specifically froth at the mouth over TD while fellating LS. Makes me think most of the ranting about site culture is less "they're not acting in the spirit of the site" and more "they disagree with me and called me a faggot/scrote, janny please get rid of them NOW >:( "

As others have mentioned, BP itself is no issue to the site culture. And even if you want to drill into the "problematic" threads, like the hate one, it's doing nothing to site culture by itself.

If anything, it's a reflection of how poorly adjusted some people are here. And they did not need these threads to think this way.

The site is seemingly full of incels on both sides of aisle. And, despite being so alike in their blind reciprocal hatred, they just can't help but to poke the other camp any given occasion or seek for examples to validate their opinion.

I would imagine that most people who do not harbor such extreme feelings towards the other sex have long given up on trying to reason with either camp, if they ever even tried to.

I think that before the man hate thread was even a thing, it was pretty common for a segment of users who now exist in the woman hate thread to openly shit on women site wide.

Somehow, it only becomes an issue now that it's no longer a one way street.

I don't want to read about any side of the argument, but it does not seem objective to blame one side more than other to me. If anything, I am glad they have containment zones and wish they stay there as much as possible.
