Here's the thing I don't get about this messaging. If there is a group of people who are concerned that the government is growing ever more authoritarian and usurping the rights of the people (and I'd venture to guess that the number of people who feel that way is significantly larger than it was 8 years ago), I don't know that the smart response is to say "Well, we already have them outgunned... so let's take more of their shit".
They're basically saying that they can run roughshod over your civil liberties and there isn't a fucking thing you can do about it.
These are the same people that turn their hordes loose to destroy urban centers over some perceived injustice every few years. It's much more effective when the masses stuck in the fray are unable to defend themselves.

This puts Joe in a difficult spot.
He's said that he won't pardon his son if he gets convicted. But somehow I don't think it's out of respect for the same justice system that convicted his political opponent of 34 bullshit felony charges. Hunter is probably the one person on earth who knows better than anyone what his father's business dealings are like. He also likely knows that the Fifth Amendment protects him from having to testify against his father if it means incriminating himself in the process. Trump pardoning Hunter would mean he no longer has to worry about incriminating himself.
This means Joe has about six months to come up with a way to protect himself and his son. My guess is Hunter gets pardoned after the election and is given a one way ticket to a country with no extradition treaties with the United States.

Wouldn't a pardon just protect him on the gun charges, for which he's been found guilty? Wouldn't he still be able to incriminate himself on all the other shit he's done that he hasn't been charged with (unless it's a general pardon or he gets an immunity deal)?

You can get preemptive pardons. A couple of examples are Gerald Ford pardoning Nixon and Jimmy Carter pardoning the Vietnam War's draft dodgers.
The thing with Joe pardoning his son is it'd shatter the illusion that he isn't overtly weaponizing the justice system (which the polls indicate people see through anyway). That's why I predicted that any action taken to protect Hunter would come after the election and he gets told to fuck off to a country where he can't embarrass anyone he and his father have done business with.
It seems like they already complied.
For what it's worth, this appears to be the product the Secret Service was referring to. It's absolutely stupid that they'd threaten to arrest/fine Gamersupps for this because nobody in their right mind would think this product had anything to do with that demented old pedophile.

The whole point of the first amendment is to criticize your government. Implying Biden behaves like he is tipping back some lean before public appearances is like the very definition of free speech. Honestly I would tell them to go fuck themselves in the fanciest stationary I could find and include some coupons for gamer supps in it for good measure. But then again I mostly do things for the memes and I don't have people working for me
