"This was all our fault. We are the ones that wanted to have a franchise we all could enjoy to escape our lives for a while. Now would you be so kind as to leave so we can prepare to be miserable for the rest of our adult lives?"
Sometimes I wonder how long can Star Wars truly last. I mean, lets be real here, they arent gathering new fans, at least not enough to "replace" the ones they are losing by the ass load. There is only so much good faith that the franchise can ride off its "golden years" before people just...leave, you know?
I checked out after TLJ but I have been watching the beatings this franchise has been taking, one after the other.
For any of you keeping record...
They have ruined the OG trilogy cast, then Obi-Wan, then Boba Fett, then Ahsoka and the Rebels crew (for those that did enjoy those for some reason) and now here we are, ruining the very significance of Anakin's birth.
What does Star Wars truly have left at this point? Every major popular character has been ruined one way or the other. I barely see zoomer and alpha gen star wars fans, their sentiments are usually passive, like "I like the prequel memes" and thats really it. Their emotional attachment to this franchise just isnt happening so the number of people who give a shit are going to start dying out sooner or later.
And then what? Survive off scraps in terms of fan numbers? Just have shills and the media constantly gaslighting that records are being broken while conveniently hiding the viewership numbers?
Just how long one can maintain this circus going?
I heard that the Acolyte is a pile of shit and had a quick look on r/StarWars to see what the vibe was. My god those people on there are biggest coomsumers who can't look at anything critically. No matter how bad something is, once it has the Star Wars logo slapped on it they're all like "It's great! it's amazing! stop being negative! I bet you voted for Donald Trump!"
I think its very clear that going to Reddit for good cultural and political takes is a waste of time.
The site is a shill factory and they made it very clear that they are a liberal oriented site and they arent afraid to remind you of that. Any sort of conservative R/s that remained are lite conservatism on the style of RINOs, aka, controlled opposition.
I fucking knew it.....christ almighty we really need to start tallying up how much of currentyear slop culture is geared solely towards soothing the neuroses of BPD Shaniquas in media consultancy groups
It doesnt really matter. Disney is a billion dollar company and they can tank the money losses.
This clearly became a humiliation ritual and political vehicle and nothing else.
It's no wonder they've steered clear of anything to do with the sequels since then. I am going to be very surprised if their attempted Rey movie even gets off the ground. Normal audiences don't like the obvious Mary Sue, and Reylos got betrayed by their killing him off in the last movie. Who is going to show up to see a boring plank of wood again?
Eh, Im sure they will do it. They bothered to parade Daisy around and she is very much looking forward returning since her career really hasnt taken off after ROS (she has been only bad to mediocre movies since).
You must realise we are dealing with either one of the most tone deaf sheltered prideful corporate folks ever seen in human history or cultural vandals who take sociopathic pleasure in hurting what others love because its the only way they can feel something in their dark souless pits they call hearts. They know it hurts and they love it.
Or maybe a disturbing combitionation of both.
The moment they used that line again in ROS, its confirmation that it will now be used to gaslight people into thinking that the Force can just fucking do this anytime and go even beyond that.
"It doesnt make any sense!"
"Of course not, the dark side is a pathway into un-"
"YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT OF THE PHRASE AND SCENE!"
Amusingly, the Acolyte shills seem unable to pick a narrative for the witch episode. Are the witches bad for clearly being Darksiders and creating life unnaturally? Or are the Jedi bad for being big meanies and not letting them continue. I'm seeing both.
In our age of double think, of course we are.
When you raise people to be ok with openly contradicting thoughts, you can make them buy anything.
