Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Very late reply I know, not sure how I didn't catch this the first time but actually no. Anakin lost because Obi-Wan outplayed him. At least that's how it was framed. Even in the movie for most of the fight Obi-Wan is on the backfoot playing defense while Anakin is just hammering away at him which is the worst fucking thing you could be doing against the guy whose specialty is defense. Obi-Wan absolutely could not overpower Anakin in a head on fight though and he knew that that's why he waited for an opportunity and he got one.
Basically it wasn't exactly a fluke but two things. Anakin's raging arrogance and blind hatred at that moment and Obi-Wan just playing smarter.
He knew Anakin well enough to play him so he did. He lured him to a position where he knew he had the advantage. Now Anakin could have just not taken the bait, but he did and that's why he lost.
That's how powerful Anakin was. Kenobi had to get lucky and bait him. If they fought on a flat surface, Kenobi would be dead, and if Anakin wanted to, he could also kill Palpatine like it was nothing, which he does in the Dark Side ending of the Revenge of the Sith video game.

Neither Kenobi nor Yoda could do that.

Looks like Star Wars: Outlaws is getting its own novel.

Tbf George himself said that Windu would have beaten Palpatine if Anakin didn't show up. For some reason people like to argue that though even though we literally have footage of him saying that Windu would've won.

That is because of Windu's fighting style, Vaapad, which channeled Sidious' dark energy back at him. That is why Yoda lost and Windu won, against Sidious, even though Yoda was stronger than Windu in the Force.

Speaking of the Obi-Wan vs Anakin fight though that was also another thing in Legends I liked as well.
So everyone talks about how the lightsaber fight between Obi-Wan and Vader in Episode IV is so slow and unimpressive compared to almost every other fight in the series and in reality we know why because they were only just then figuring out the tech and not to mention they were fighting with basically glass rods while filming ect.

But in Legends it's explained away like this, the fight was so slow and methodical because Vader was being overtly cautious because unlike Disney canon this was the first time Vader had seen Obi-Wan since Mustafar and he absolutely did not want to risk getting clowned on by him again so he was playing it very safe while facing him.

That, and Kenobi was ready to die, since he'd already trained with Qui-Gon's spirit in the desert on how to become immortal.

Man, just let Maul die. They actually gave him a pretty good death in Rebels, but then they had to bring the corpse out for Solo and now this...
Might be because he was supposed to be a big part of "Underworld"/"Level 1313", so they're kind of using George's unproduced material for inspiration, but of course they have to put their own shitty stamp on it instead of just whole-heartedly embracing his weird autistic vision.
Like the prequels really only needed another writer to come in and revise the more stilted dialogue, and a co-director who's better at working with actors (cough Spielberg cough) to make some of the more awkwardly-acted scenes less cringy, and they would've been solid.

The first game "under-performed" and was largely mocked by anyone who wasn't a consumer or niggercattle, what in the fuck were they thinking making a second one? Was it already in development before or immediately after the first game? Or was it just a sparkle in Goobisoft's nutsack but they consider that enough to call it "in development." Why even tell us like anyone gives a shit since all this does it make you look even more incompetent? Too many questions for these Eldritch beings beyond human comprehension.

Speaking of underperforming, Solo was shit so they dangled Darth Maul in people's face to try and sequel bait. His death in Rebels was how he should have ended, doesn't mean they won't try and use the time before his death to milk him for all he's got.

I'll try to tl;dr but the answer is "It was in development before the 1st one was even in beta"

There are a lot of steps to game design. You need art, levels, story, etc.
A lot of the base level art like textures and stuff is done before coding even really starts. If you have a team of people and they are working well together, the base job of the concept art team will be done before the menus are coded. So if you like your art team, you need to have something for them to, and that's work on other projects. In the case of something like Outlaws, it printing money and getting a half-assed sequel was just expected.
Reality subverted their expectations, so they pulled the plug quickly, probably before anything was solid settled about the story.

Oh yeah, and I also like to think of Di$ney Star Wars as crappy Current Year fanfiction too.
I mean with how genuinely sloppily written the sequel trilogy was it basically WAS crappy fanfiction.
But at the same time it's somehow worse because I feel like edgy 14 year old me probably could've written a more coherent plotline than whatever the fuck the plot of the sequel trilogy was meant to be other than "Rey does things."

the sequel trilogy
To this day I have not seen much of the sequel trilogy. I also never saw much of the 2nd prequel, but seems that "I don't like sand" movie is still better than JJ Star Wars.

Even though I have not seen much of Di$ney Star Wars, what I have seen and heard is not a good impression. Like that "THE POWER OF MANY~~~!" thing. Or how Luke turned out...

I promise you it's probably worse than you think. (:_(

I'll do you one better; everything since 2008's Clone Wars is fanfiction, with varying levels of quality but always in a downward trajectory. It's akin to watching a teenage girl crashing out and making their crap worse to spite people leaving mean comments, but also due to terror that their fake online friends on whatever shithole they write on know they care about fake causes. We're at the part where the now crazy 30 something self-diagnosed nightmare is socking and puppeting their reviews, and recycling their earlier works that actually got positive feedback.

I’m fully prepared for this “New Jedi Order” movie to bomb on an astronomical level even worse then the Sequel Trilogy, I’m partially convinced Disney is deliberately writing like shit to spite long-time fans, after the next film gets criticized to hell they will fuck with the Old Republic so hard that fans would attempt in vein crowdfund a buy-out of the IP
